Just downloaded "Constant Motion." It's awesome. Very heavy and proggy. Who is the other dude singing the heavy stuff?

The thing I don't like about dream theater is that everything they do, even in other projects, sounds fruity as hell.

Got the new single as well, and I think it's a very good song. I love the verses and the instrumental section especially, but my only complaint is that the chorus is very sub-par. But, the rest of the song makes up for it. It's definitely one of the heaviest songs I've heard by them.

Vocally DT have improved heaps both lead and backing over the years being the only area where they are overshadowed by some of the other top prog bands. Playing wise they have always matched it with or have been better than most. The new single rocks even with the Metallica and Blackened similarities which fit the song anyway. This album with hopefully smoke the last which was the first DT release I wasn't a big fan of.

I think the special edition cover looked cool, but the standard one rubbed me the wrong way.

But this will be a great year for Prog. I hear another Ayreon may be coming out by the end of the year as well. Fingers crossed.

The "leaked" full instrumental album is not really Dream Theater, or at least it isn't Systematic Chaos. Anyone know who it is? It almost sounds like a new Liquid Tension Experiment or something. I think someone mentioned that the leaked version is really the ToT contest winners, whatever that means...

i totally dig constant motion. it's the fastest that they have gone in years. and to answer your question, it's probably portnoy doing the backup vox.

"Constant Motion" and "The Dark Eternal Night" make it seem like this new album is like Train Of Thought. Is it?

Being a big fan of DT, this is definitely one of my top anticipated albums of 2007.

I wonder if any metal fans have ever actually called DT "teh ghey" for not being "br00tal and eeeeeeeavil."

I listened to some songs on the new album and frankly it sounded amazing. My local cd store dealer said that DT hasn't put out a great album in many years, if ever, but that this new one definately will be. I thought it sounded silly when he said it but when i listened to this i sort of saw what he was getting at.

I just watched "Octavarium" and "Metropolis" from that DVD...gives me chills. Metropolis especially was incredible on Score.

Awesome. :dio:

The chorus type part of the song was quite good but the rest of the song, I found to be fairly lame. So much, that I would consider nearly every song on octavarium to be superior
