Monster Magnet - 3 Songs From God's Jukebox (EP)

Is that new?

No. It was released prior to God Says No. It's a promo, but has a booklet and such. And it has some non-LP tracks:

1. Heads Explode
2. I Want More (Financial Declaration) *
3. 1970 *

* Non-LP

Ah cool, I've been chomping at the bit for some news on new stuff from them for a while now, but due to whyndorf's junkie ways I don't have high hopes.

There was a post on Blabbermouth a while back about him being back in the studio, but their website hasn't been updated at all, so I'm not sure if that update was true or not.

Its better than I expected. Different yes, but still good. I dont know why people were freaking out so much. The first 3 tracks especially are great.

Yeah, It was the first time I listened to the whole thing in one sitting. Before I had only heard it in pieces and it wasnt clicking. After hearing it as a whole the other day though I must say its up there with Powerplant and better than Land of The Free.

Nevermore - Enemies of Reality (Remastered)

This is the first time I have purchased an album I already owned just cause of it being remastered, and it wil probably also be the last. Since "Enemies of Reality" was my first Nevermore album, I thought it would be worth seeing how much Andy Sneap improved upon the original product.

The difference is quite noticeable. The album as a whole has a sound quality that is very similar to that of "This Godless Endeavor". I'd say it was worth it. :dio:

Yeah that sound quality difference between those two is pretty huge, I actually heard the remaster first and when I heard the sound quality of the original I was like

I bought the original the day it came out and actually returned it for a new one because I thought it was a defect. Thats how shitty it sounds. I actually hated the album because I couldnt take the crap production. I got the remaster as soon as it was available and it quickly became one of my favorite albums.

There is no crap production on this album. It didn't need to be remixed at all. The original was perfectly fine as it was.

I wouldn't exactly call the original production "crap", but it is definitely the poorest mix out of any of Nevermore's albums. The re-mix is definitely an improvement. That annoying fuzz is gone, the guitar sound is much bsharper and up front, and the bass has more punch. I can actually make out Loomis' lower register riffs that were very muddy on the original mix.

Century Media must have thought it was bad enough to pretty much recall the original version and completely replace it in stores with the re-mixed version.

I personally think the band had a grudge against Kelly Gray. And I also think the production suits the album well; it compliments the songs more than the remixed version.

Why would they have a grudge against him?
