I got Forbidden Evil in the post yesterday and after having read so many mixed reviews from 'the best thrash album ever' to 'absolute shit/mediocre' I approached it with a sceptical mind. I must say it kicks ass, especially Chalice of Blood. This is only after one or two listens but I am very impressed-sounds to me like Testament with Arise era Seps. Anyone else's thoughts? Is Twisted Into Form worth a buy?

An underrated classic for sure! Love the guitarwork. Twisted to Form is good too, but steer clear of anything they released after that.

Twisted into Form is great too, Distortion is OK and Green is retarded.

Don't listen to any of them. Twisted Into Form is a classic. Distortion is great, and Green is extremely underrated. Green isn't thrash, but it is a killer, dark, modern metal album.

"Through Eyes of Glass" is another standout track from Forbidden Evil, imo. it's not my favourite thrash album but it's certainly a solid one.

If you like the first, then by all means get Twisted Into Form, i think both albums are great and very similar.

Distortion was an interesting attempt at "proggy" songs, but they replaced too much of their cool guitar playing with boring guitar playing. Green had interesting rhythms but that's about it.

You know absolutely nothing about music. You download everything, skim through CDs, and then come here spouting off like you're an expert. There isn't any fucking "prog" on Distortion. Nor is there any attempt at being "proggy."

I like some Forbidden songs, but i think their albums are very inconsistent in quality. Chalice Of Blood, Through Eyes Of Glass are bay area classics, but songs like Off The Edge, Feel No Pain, March Into Fire are really boring to my ears. Still their first 2 albums are worth owning...

Right, it's your "opinion." Of course, you're totally disregarding fact. So if I post a picture of an elephant and insist it's a baboon, I guess that doesn't mean I'm full of shit, right? It's just me forming an opinion. I have that right—right? Hahaha.

Oh, but wait, they covered King Crimson! Whoa! Even though it's not "proggy" at all, I guess it still is. In fact, that makes the whole album "proggy." I mean, the original is, so they couldn't possibly have changed it at all. I guess Sonata Arctica's version of "Still Loving You" is still a ballad, right? Good to know.

My point was that music isn't as easily definable as telling an elephant from a baboon. The "fact" in this case is I hear a prog influence on Distortion, you don't, but Forbidden also apparently like King Crimson enough to cover one of their songs.

and they don't change 21st Century Schizoid Man any more than KC themselves have changed it over the years

I love how you always try to backtrack.

Distortion was an interesting attempt at "proggy" songs...

Oh, but wait, that's not what you meant. You didn't mean they were trying to be "proggy." You were just saying that...like...uh...the songs weren't easily definable...or something.

I win again!

Yeah, Twisted Into Form is definately recommended if you liked the 1st album. All their albums are a bit different though. The first 2 are considered as classics. Distortion has some REALLY good songs plus awesome playing. Haven't listened to Green much, but I recall it was ok at least.

I'm gonna be honest, I liked Twisted Into Form better than Forbidden Evil. Not MUCH better, mind you, but enough to say so. It's become kind of the soundtrack to any of my various "AH FUCKING PISSED OFF" moods.

Whoa Ken, you almost overeacted to something there  . Isn't all music subjective though? Different people hear different things in music. For instance, some people here Rush influences in Tool. I however don't. Does that make one of us wrong?

There's a whole lot of difference between music and calling an elephant a baboon. An elephant is an elephant, no doubt about it. Music however is more open to interpretation. Please don't bite my head off as I'm just chipping in my two cents, whether it is worng in your eyes or not.

I remember them when I was young. Forbidden and Violence had some "kick-ass" guitar work. Those two bands could really make your "head-spin". Along with some selective Kreator and Coroner. YOU GUYS MAKE ME FEEL OLD BRINGING UP THESE TOPICS :(

"Twisted Into Form" and "Forbidden Evil" are killer thrash metal albums to these days. I love them.

They reunited few weeks ago, so maybe we'll see them someday ;)
