What a crappy recording. Still, this is going to own so much ass, that there won't be enough ass to own.

Christgrinding avenue? LOL

All I heard was ROVRRROWWOROROROROROOROR but I'm sure the album will rule. Behemoth has been a fail safe band for so long now.

The sound quality was really bad, but I liked what I could make out, which is good considering I've never liked Behemoth.

I preferred Behemoth when they played black metal.

I dont know why it's cool to sound exactly like Nile. Yes I can honestly say I listen to and enjoy Grom, Sventevith and ...And the Forests Dream Eternally quite regularly.

They sound absolutely nothing like Nile. Not even close actually. Come on man, don't let your black metal elitism get in the way of how you listen to death metal.

I liked them best on Grom too. Seriously, if you don't agree that Demi-god sounds like Nile, what the hell... Nearly an exact copy.

What the hell is right... And I guess Dragonforce sounds like Helloween and Finntroll sounds like Trollfest and Old Mans Child sounds like Children of Bodom... Honestly, this is music you guys obviously do not listen to. Older Behemoth sounds like every other tr00 black metal band out there (this is an obvious overstatement, b/c I do like black metal... even the tr00est of tr00, but it isn't something I listen to a lot). After a while, if you don’t listen to a certain genre of music it all sounds the same. Jazz all sounds the same Misha, except for some of the bands you showed. Holy crap some of that stuff is weird, Archie Shepp  . Anyway, my point is if you listen to black metal more than any other genre, one death metal band will most likely sound like the rest of them. Same goes for power metal.

And another thing. We have a similar discussion going in the prog/power forum about Nocturnal Rites. They were a completely different band before they made a line up change in the late 90's. But most people (except Trooper :lame: ) prefer the older Rites. At the same time though, people have grown to love the latter. I don't know where I am going with this, but I guess... why can't you like both for what they are FTR?

What makes me an expert on death metal since I listen to mostly power metal? I don't know, I'm not. I just started typing random stuff and felt like posting... No actually, I have been listening to Nile and Behemoth a lot latley. Anyway, I'm waiting for my iPod to come in the mail... so now I'm just waisting time and my day... and it's so nice outside... but I have now iPod to go for a jog  ...

I thought Demigod and Zos Kias Culta were both well done albums, probably not very original, but I listen to death metal for cool guitar playing and drumming (Behemoth have too many blast beats in that department imo), so nyeh! I mean the only unique death metal band to come along since Gorguts has been !T.O.O.H!...

I can't say if they sounded much like Nile because I've never gotten to the 3rd song of a Nile album :D I haven't really heard their black metal albums... maybe some day I will.

I woukldn't say exact copy , but yeah similar enough to make the comparison stick. Certainly having Sanders play some guest leads doesn't make them sound more different.

If we are calling them a carbon cop, I say that Behemoth does a better job of being Nile than Nile does.

both the black and the death/black Behemoth is incredible though.

I mildly like Behemoth for what it is---a band strongly influenced by Nile, but Behemoth needs to write longer tracks if they really want to play "epic" death metal like Nile.

Maybe its cause I am a fanboy,or just because my fav genre is death metal, but personally I find that Behemoth sound nothing like Nile. The structures are quite different, the style of play is also different in that Nile is all over the place with riffs up the wazzu and employs brutality quite regularly, whereas Behemoth is more focused on delivering cathy yet powerful upfront riffs, and the leads are common at the entrance to a chorus and during.

Regardless, both bands are two of my absolute most favorites, and I see two completely different projects unlike say early Bodom/Norther/Kalmah/Mors Prinsipium Est etc.At least someone else out there enjoys them for what they are,it seems most bands I like are not enjoyed by most here.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. I am a fan of both bands; I have everything of Behemoth's from Pandemic Incantations to Demigod (I think I'm gonna cum all over myself when their new stuff comes out. It sounds killer!), and I own every LP by Nile.

I never suggested that either Behemoth or Nile are better at doing playing this specific kind of death metal, but I'm glad people agree that they sound rather similar. Maybe there's a few structural differences, but even there I see much similarity. Even within the narrow death metal genre, they're really close.

I saw Behemoth a few days ago here in Montreal. It's the first time i see them as a headliner and all i have to saw is holy fuckin' wow, wow.... wow. I've seen 200+ shows in my life and there are few which have compared in sheer intensity... and insanity for that matter (the singer/guitarist threw his guitar rockn' roll style across the stage near the end of the show). Every note was like a sludge hammer to the face and the audience deserves a big kudos for rockin' the hell out. definitely looking forward to their new stuff.
