Ken still doing the News, then? :P

Devildriver are the kind of band I don't hate, but wouldn't buy. It always sounds like people imitating Extreme Metal rather than making it. Still, good luck to 'em and all that.

I guess Devildriver are alright, not something I would rush out and buy, so this news doesn't really mean much to me.

Uh, yeah it does! :P You see, some people look back on the nu-metal craze with a little embarassment. And Coal Chamber are widely regarded as one of the most embarassing bands from this most embarassing trend. So therefore Dez Fafara's extreme metal band aint gonna get much respect in the elitist world of extreme metal.

btw i own both of Devildrivers albums, i have nothing against their music at all. Just not really to my tastes at the moment.

But Coal Chamber has nothing to do with Devil Driver; thus those people getting embarrassed about a musical style and judging a band far removed from that style are simply idiots.

Well i think thats a fair point! But it doesn't change the fact that those idiots will always carry a negative viewpoint on Devildriver based on Dez Fafaras involvement in Coal Chamber.

This thread made me listen to Devildriver's second album......and while it defies every kvlt bone in my body, its a great slab of modern melodic thrash kinda stuff.

Ain't a bad band.

Heard better, heard worse.
