That subject line sucks! :rolleyes:

Anyway, that line-up is pretty much worthless. I still love Metal Blade, but does anyone feel like Slagel has turned his back on what made him and his label so famous? All those screamo bands just seem out of place. I realize they're probably pulling in more money than traditional metal/thrash bands would, and a man has to make a living, but I—as a fan of so many Metal Blade bands of yore—still can't help but be a little disappointed.

there are a lot of dubious quality bands but the bands i recognized were all pretty solid.

i'd like to hear a "metal blade united" kinda thing, it'd fucking rule.

What Eyesore said. I got to know many of my first metal bands from Metalblade, like Ancient, Vader, Vomitory and Amon Amarth. Since then I don't really pay attention to that label - last I looked Black Dahlia Murder were the only screamo band on their roster, and it seems to have gotten infinitely worse.

Perhaps, but I still think they suck. Melodic death just doesn't cut it anymore for me.
