My favorite Xasthur is the split with Nortt. My next favorite is probably The Funeral of Being.

NP - My Dying Bride - Turn Loose the Swans - "The Snow In My Hand"

Next Up - Decapitated - Winds of Creation

I have that, but i never listen to the Nortt side, just the Xasthur half :lol:

The only one of those not available on cd is Portrait in Scars, and possibly the Iuvenes split.

I seem to be on one of my death metal sprees tonight (does anyone else find that when they listen to something from one genre they tend to want to listen to just stuff from that genre for a while?)

Yeah that album is great, it's not perfect but it's one of my top 10 albums... if that makes sense :blink:

I just finished listening to the new Odious Mortem. It was good for tech death, but this trend of never repeating or fleshing out any riffs in death metal is pretty lame. It's like they're thinking that if you sound chaotic and tekk then none of it has to actually have any substance.
