So I've been listening to these three bands a lot lately, and coincidently they're all from Japan. Anyway check out Ark Storm, Concerto Moon, and Galneryus. Ark Storm and Concerto Moon are both Neo-classical power metal a la Malmsteen, except they focus more on riffs instead of all out soloing. Galneryus is a band straight out of a video game. Holy shit are they catchy, it just takes a while to get used to the vocalist.

Katsu Ohta guitarist for Ark Storm OMFG he is GOOD

And if you haven't heard of X Japan you need to be punched in the face. Just in case,

Concerto Moon is outstanding! They have a few duds, but they've got some seriously killer albums.

Galneryus are one of my favourite power metal bands. Their guitarist is amazing. Just listened to them this morning on my way to work and the people must have thought I was crazy the way I headbanged. :dio:

I once listend to Rain Forest from Concerto Moon. Didn't like the singer though. Even with the booklet I my hands I couldn't really follow what he was singing. A better singer can really make them a lot better.

I have and really like Galneryus.... great band! :D

I could never get into the vocals of Concerto Moon. Surprisingly, none of the reviewers over at MCDR have them, except Kit, who has just one or two of their CDs.
The band will be arriving to the site soon (via Kit), but unfortunately, many of their CDs will be listed "hopefully coming soon".

I have the first 2 Ark Storm CDs and am trying to grab their latest 'No boundaries' (anyone know where I can pick it up for a fair price?). After I grab it, the band will arrive to the MCDR site.

I don't see why people don't like Concerto Moon's singer, especially if you like Galneryus. That dude is ten times harder to get into than Concerto Moon's.

But doesn't he sing in Japanese??? Maybe that's it.... I think only one or two of Concerto Moon's CDs are in English, but I'm not sure.
I'm curious. Could you please clear this up for me?

.... as far as languages other than English, I've really only been able to get into Russian.

As far as quality Japan metal acts go, Loudness and Hellen are my fave. But overall I am a big Metalucifer fan, although they are somewhat of an "aquired taste".
