Nightwish fucking rule! I wish more metal bands supported other great metal bands like this:

Quote:
British gothic metallers PARADISE LOST have been confirmed as the support act for NIGHTWISH on their upcoming North American tour. The trek will be only PARADISE LOST's third visit to the U.S. after previously supporting MORBID ANGEL and OPETH.

Commented PARADISE LOST singer Nick Holmes: "We can't wait to get to the U.S. on a great tour, and try and make an impact after years of focusing on Europe."

PARADISE LOST supporting NIGHTWISH:

Oct. 15 - Springfield, VA @ Jaxx
Oct. 16 - Philadelphia, PA @ Trocadero
Oct. 18 – New York, NY @ Nokia Theatre
Oct. 20 - Worcester, MA @ The Palladium
Oct. 21 - Montreal, QC @ The Medley
Oct. 23 - Toronto, ON @ The Docks
Oct. 24 - Cleveland, OH @ Peabody’s Down Under
Oct. 26 - Detroit, MI @ Harpo’s
Oct. 27 - Chicago, IL @ House of Blues
Oct. 28 - Minneapolis, MN @ First Avenue
Oct. 31 - Seattle, WA @ The Showbox
Nov. 01 - Portland, OR @ Roseland Theater
Nov. 02 - San Francisco, CA @ Slim’s
Nov. 04 - West Hollywood, CA @ House of Blues
Nov. 06 - Anaheim, CA @ House of Blues
Nov. 07 - Tempe, AZ @ Marquee Theater
Nov. 08 - Albuquerque, NM @ Sunshine Theater
Nov. 10 - San Antonio, TX @ White Rabbit
Nov. 11 - Dallas, TX @ Palladium
Nov. 12 - Houston, TX @ Meridian
Nov. 14 - Ft. Lauderdale, FL @ Culture Room
Nov. 15 - Lake Buena Vista, FL @ House of Blues
Nov. 17 - Atlanta, GA @ The Masquerade

PARADISE LOST has set "In Requiem" as the title of its 11th album, due in the U.K. on May 21 via Century Media Records. The artwork for the CD will be created by Seth Siro Anton, who was the artwork designer for the group's last album, "Paradise Lost".

PARADISE LOST will play an exclusive show in London at Camden's Koko on April 12. The band will perform songs from across their ten-album career which will be filmed for the definitive DVD, entitled "From Gothic to Paradise Lost", to be released later this year.

Commented Nick Holmes: "We're all really excited to be playing this show at Koko. After playing so many venues in our career it'll be cool to play a different venue. It's going be a really special show as we're playing songs spanning our whole career and hopefully we'll be able to play something very new for you. The show will be filmed for our new DVD so you'd better get those lighters ready! Come along — it should be a night to remember."

G.U.N./ Sony/BMG in Europe and Abacus Recordings in the U.K. and the U.S released the band's last album, "Paradise Lost". Century Media Records is re-releasing the album in the U.K. and U.S.

Name another band that would take Paradise Lost out on a US tour? Pffft!

You didn't see that show? That was right before Opeth got fairly big for an underground act. Tapping the Vein was the opener, excellant fem front mod goth/rock stuff from PA. You would like that album The Damage if you don't have it already.

Nope. Honestly, I tend to avoid metal shows these days. I always find myself really annoyed by the fans. I generally pay to see shit like The John Butler Trio, because the fans are awesome and respectful. Metal fans are retards.

Possibly, but I don't know. I think it's pretty common everywhere.

I used to live in the Washington DC area. I would see tons of shows either at Jaxx in Springfield, VA. or the 9:30 Club in DC. I never had a problem and both are really small venues. Even the bigger places like Nissan Pavilion (VA) and Merriweather Post (MD) ran damn smooth, even during events like Ozzfest. You're having some bad luck there Eyesore.

I'm now 330 miles from DC. I will still drive to see bands at Jaxx because they never seem to hit my area. Especially if it's a bigger band like Nightwish. I've been debating on making the trek for Scar Symmetry/Into Eternity/Dark Tranquillity/The Haunted. :dio:

Maybe you guys have more patience than me. One elbow to the back by some gay mosher and I'm about ready to start doing the Godzilla in Tokyo dance!

I usually just hang out in the over 21 bar area or go see shows like Nightwish or Katatonia where there isn't much ignorance.

Now that I don't blame you for at all. I've learned my lesson. Now in smaller clubs I seek higher ground away from the possible "mosh pits". If the venue has a second floor or higher we just go up there, find a spot at the railing, and camp out.

I remember I went to see Cold and Evanescence. I had this girl with dreads next to me. She kept whipping her head around and hitting me in the face with her damn hair. It took me threatening her with death for her to move away. Some people are just a**holes and have no respect for those around them. They have this notion that because they bought a ticket it now entitles them to act like obnoxious idiots for the evening.

You can cuss here.

I remember I went to see 311 like two years ago (fuck off!) and during the first song I could see this one dude trying to rock out, but he kept picking up speed. I knew at some point he was going to just go into the meathead frenzy. Sure enough, he did, and a "mosh pit" erupted—more like a bunch of assholes in a dryer type of thing. He ended up slamming—hard!—my friend Jill and her sister Dawn in the back so hard. I flipped. I grabbed this dude by the t-shirt and it actually completely ripped off his body! Hahaha. Then I choke-slammed him to the ground, put my finger in his face, and fucking yelled all over him. I don't know if he heard me, we were real close to the speakers, but not a single person moshed by that whole side of the stage the rest of the night. Hahahaha. I was a hero.

You don't fucking mosh at a 311 show. :lame:

That doesnt sound like a bad idea...but instead of a choke-slam, can you do a jack-knife power bomb or a tombstone piledriver instead?

As for the metal goers as concerts, you should be used to idiots doing stupid things. I think sometimes its all about position. If you slap bang in the middle of the crowd, then expect all kinds of shit coming at you from all angles. I prefer to be up the front and off to one of the sides. That way you are away from the "moshers" and you have a lot more room.
Then the only thing you have to put up with is tools behind you trying to rush forward and crushing you into the person in front of you...but then you can always push back just as much.
Everything else, like sweaty bodies, and arms or shoulders accidently knocking you (in the head usually) is pretty much part of the parcel...you just have to put up with it.

Vibeke New Singer For Nightwish?

WTF??

I seriously doubt this. I dunno why really, I just do. Although I think it would kick insane amounts of ass.

That would be something. Quiting your former band for personal reasons and ending up at Nightwish :D

I agree, somewhat. I won't say she's mediocre, but pedestrian she is. Unless she was holding back in Tristania, which is possible, I guess. She's a great vocalist, but Tarja was phenomenal; Tarja is leagues above anything Vibeke did in Tristania.

I guess we'll see. First single comes out soon, right?

Some time in may they plan to release the single from the next album, titled "Eva"

EDIT: Single is called Eva, no clue what the album will be called.
