This band is going the wrong way. From what I have just read, I have no desire to listen to a "worse" version of rocket-ride, and that is saying alot because Edguy is one of my favorite bands.

The main reason there is a different sound, is because they abandoned the keyboards. No keyboards means less of a power metal sound and more of a straight forward hard rock sound. Of course it doesn't measure up to their debut, but it is still a decent album that tends to grow on you the more you listen to it.

Wow,cool, had no idea these guys have a new album.
I didn't like the Puppet thing,it was soo far behind Delirium Veil.
So if they changed style, great, maybe a new great album is on the way.Gonna get it asap and come back with some thoughts.

Some parts are painful to listen to. This will be my disappointment for 2007. 59/100. There might be one or two songs that I like.

I just heard one of the songs from the new album on the radio during a metal show. Hmmm, not sure what to think. I agree, that they are going in the wrong direction. I may listen to the album, but like NESS, this may end up going in the disappointments section.

I'm not as familiar with their other two albums but from what I've heard so far this album is not that bad. Some good riffs, nice melody. I guess if you are going to compare it to previous stuff, then I can understand the difference of opinion.

You really should check out the band's 2nd album (cant recall the name of it at the moment), it was brilliant...I think thats why everyone is down-grading their latest effort.

IMO I thought Plague-House Puppet Show was rather disappointing compared to Delerium Veil. Not a bad album, but not a superior as their debut

Surely you mean Delirium Veil, which is the first. The 2nd was Puppet show...like someone said before, and it is way less inspired than DV.
Check out DV for an amazing combo of Hard Rock and Power Metal with insane melodies.

Anyway on to the Swinelords...hm :) I was getting charged up for nothing.Yeah it's different but to me what it lacks is...how should I put it,expressivity. Some good riffing and melodies alltogether but it's just "not there"...my point being...it's kinda slipping into the mediocre category.Could've been much more inspired.

Chris said in his review basically everything I though of the 2ND album!! So, this album is probably going to be quite the shit, something I hoped they would never do after the crap that was Bedlam. I was fearing this after hearing that the title was Swinelords...
