Indeed; I consider that album, and it's follow up to be avant-garde Metal. Their old stuff is definitely Black Metal though.

Aspera Hiems Simfonia is pretty fucking avant-garde...
that and Constellation are my favorites...

Theyr downfall started after Morbid Facsination of Death, maybe even before that. The new stuff is rather....mediocre.

Yeah, when I heard Bloodlust... back in 97, I had high expectations for this band, and they have never lived up to them.

The Used: I totally agree, their debut was something amazing and this one is OK, but not even close to the first one. By the way, I love how Bert sings, he puts a lot of passion into his vocals.

The BBs: Is it me or Crimes is WAAAAAY more commercial??? Still good though. My favorite by them (and one of my top non Metal albums) is Burn Piano Island, Burn, that album was so fuckin' crazy!! I love it!. Oh and going back to Crimes, at first I though WTF did the vocalist do because his voice became a lot more high pitched (almost like a chipmunk) but now I like it too.
