Like a bandmember would ever say: "This new stuff we've been working on is pretty mediocre."

Still, its Rush, and I can't wait.

Yeah, I don't think I have ever seen an interview about an upcoming album where a band member said the upcoming material is less than their absolute best. I wish they would stop. :lame:

Well he said it was some of the best work in years, not that it was better than 2112, and Hemispheres. It cant be to hard to top Test For Echo (borderline crap) and Vapour Trails (pretty good not great).

If anything, at times "Test For Echo" sounded like older stuff similar to "Permanant Waves" and "Hemispheres", more so than anything they released after "Signals". I'll pass judgement once I hear it but I can't see them going backwards after they have gone so forward musically from classic rock to a more progressive sound.

I've always really enjoyed listening to Rush' material. I agree that the chances of them going backward is minimal. They're such a talented band. I'm looking forward to the new CD. I really loved the live DVD "R30" they released not long ago. Who doesn't like Rush? Peart writes some of the greatest lyrics ever of course aside from that drumming thing he does. LOL.

actually i'm not a fan of Rush's earlier music because of Geddy Lee's vocals, they were WAY too high back then.

from the albums i heard, Grace Under Pressure is by far my favourite.

I really, really wish that I could enjoy Geddy Lee's voice. I immensely hate it, though. Musically, the band is excellent. But Lee's voice just makes me cringe.

And that makes me sad inside.

Way too many. I don't accept broad opinions like this without given it a lot of thought/chances. I just can't dig them. Although, if I recall, I did like the song "Roll The Bones," or something like that, back in the day. I like it best when people cover Rush! :)

Maybe this means they'll tour over here, and I might actually get to see them
