Good stuff. I can't wait for the new album. Hopefully, though, only ONE version is released. Haha.
I'm still amazed at how well TSO does, but most of those same people see TSO would never step foot in a venue to see Savatage play!
And I thought there was supposed to be a new TSO Christmas album out this coming Christmas? I'd rather a new non-Christmas album, of course. That album was supposed to be out in Summer of '05, I believe. At least that's what was said at one point. It seems that each person has a slightly different idea of what's going on, which tells me that we probably shouldn't listen to any of them when it comes to TSO and Savatage. Haha.
The last time I spoke with him, he said that there was a new Christmas album coming out. However, I think all the energy has been put into the Nightcastle project. I think this has the potential to be a killer album. Your right Ken, many (or most) of the people who go to see TSO would never in a million years go to see a Savatage concert yet instrumentally, if you've seen TSO, the last half of their show really rocks out and sounds very much like Savatage to me. I just sit there, smile and take it all in....it might be the closest thing (besides seeing Jon Oliva) to Savatage that we may ever see again.
True. I remember the first time I saw them, I'm looking around and thinking, "Jesus! Half this crowd are elderly people!" Haha! And they were rockin' out!!

Not quite head-banging, but still rockin' out. It was hilarious! And to think the song that broke TSO, the song that everyone loves, that's played on countless radio stations ever December, is a fucking Savatage song! Haha. So ridiculous.
I really think Savatage should consider opening a few shows for TSO around the holiday season. They could do a short set of quiter songs; songs that Jon can sing without scaring the old people. I think it would be a good way to give Savatage some exposure. Of course, if they did that people would probably call them a TSO rip-off!
