I'm finishing up High School this year and I plan on getting a degree in either Aerospace/Chemical/Materials/Mechanical Engineering, Biogenetics, Chemistry, Astronomy, or Meteorology. Truthfully, all of those appeal to me. As for what University I'll be attending, hopefully MIT which I hear back from on March 31st, but thus far CalTech is where I'm headed.

I'm a student, just starting a law course and looking for a job. Hopefully, in a law firm. So I can be a lawyer.

You get the idea.

Very interesting. I have a PhD in photochemistry and run a small company specializing in chemistry R&D and formulated photopolymer and color change products.

Dude, empathy and sympathy for your daily role. Did the exact same thing a few years ago, I actually succumb to depression and prefered the dole (benefits) than stick at that job. I find the general public consists of too many impatient arseholes who would want you to personally come around their house and fix their problem there and then, in addition to 6 months free service and after giving you a kick up the backside.

you don't have to be that wealthy to go to college, at least here in portugal. for 900€ a year (or less) you can go to a public uni (and here public > private) and either way need-based financial aid is offered for both tuition and transportation.

i know quite a few people in my uni that aren't exactly swimming in cash...

Yeah, I know what you mean. Like pharmacology. Here in the US you would have to do 4 years of college in a pre-pharmacy major, then go to special school for another 1-2 years. My wife teaches general chemistry (what you are taking now) to kids at a local college. She has a lot of future pharmacists in her classes.

That's simply because you understand it this way due to your limited perception. It's the same as expecting your great-grand-mother to understand gene manipulation or nuclear physics.

WHOA WHOA WHOA, Sorry, didn't mean to lose my head, let's not resort to violence... I just get so defensive when someone questions my intellegence. But, I get what you mean by that. I remember trying to teach my great-grandmother to toss salad, and in the end it was her who taught me something.

Dead people make terrible lovers.

Biomedicinal sciences, they call that application over here.

EDIT: some retards decided to spam the topic while I was carefully crafting my one-liner, so I should mention my post had something to do with the Chemistry discussion.

Naah I never get offensive, worry not about me. I intended it to be more like a poke or a slightly rude joke than an straight insult. I just forgot the smilies. All my anger (the little of it) is channeled through music and never directed towards people. I'm a nice guy, honestly! :P

Hey, was it just me, or did anyone else ever ask themselves, "Damn... why is this 16 year old smarter than me?" while Aaron was still around? I never wanted to admit it while he was here, but sometimes I poked arguement at him, just to see if it'd get me into trouble, like a kid poking a beehive with a stick. The beauty of it was that someone like Husker could counter with "STFU FAG," and that'd work, because this is a metal forum!

Hahah, without true geniuses around to contradict the morons, everyone starts getting a feeling of self-worth.

I follow your train of thought and understand completely.

Very interesting and promising area. Due to me hating my biology teacher 20 yrs ago in high school, I have tried to avoid anything connected to biochemistry like a plague. Could have been a mistake on my part, but at 37 now it is tough to change. So I am devoted to polymers, plastics and materials science in general.

Are you into science/chemistry, like Dago?

I guess that was a very stupid question, having looked at your art gallery.

ElTipo go for Aerospace Engineering! at least here the course boasts 100% job placement and has "equivalence" to the electrical engineering course as well. and if you decide you don't want to work in that field, consulting and banking companies hire engineers too.
