Holy shit, this is actually quite amazing. I'd actually be willing to road trip it if the tickets are actually free and the bands good.

Okay, the bandlist is horrible. There goes that plan.

I don't think they've announced this year's lineup yet. The list on their website (with Avenged Sevenfold and Hatebreed on the main stage) is from last year. And yes, it's horrible.

The only thing that's confirmed is that Ozzy will be the headliner on the main stage. The only rumor I've heard is that Alice In Chains might be on the main stage.

Ahh. Well, thanks for clearing that up. Not a big Alice in Chains fan, but they're certainly better than all the bands on last year (with the exception of Dragonforce). Hopefully the lineup this year will be good, then.

Yeah, I'm a huge AIC fan, but it wouldn't be the same without Layne. I'd still be interested in seeing them though. The two years I went to this show were when Maiden and Priest headlined. If they can get a badass main stage co-headliner like that again, I'm definitely going.

I would go just for BLS. Any additional cool bands would be a bonus.

Question: Going to the Ozzfest band listing (http://www.ozzfest.com/bands.html). There are last year's bands highlighted in yellow but if you scroll all the way to the bottom it has bands highlighted in red such as Iron Maiden and Rob Zombie. What are the red highlighted bands?

Looks like it's just a list of bands that have played in the past. God knows Maiden wouldn't go within a fucking mile of Ozzfest ever again, and with good reason.

Let's just assume the lineup will suck until we find out otherwise. God, I would hate to be around thousands of nu-metal and metalcore posers all day just to see Alice.

Gotta disagree there. I saw them at Ozzfest a couple of years ago when Priest headlined. Not only did they suck massively, but Jamey Jasta was annoying the shit out of me with his between-song banter. If it weren't for the even more annoying Phil Anselmo during Superjoint Ritual, Jasta would have ran away with the award for biggest frontman douchebag of the festival.

Having never seen Hatebreed (and I doubt I will at any point or anytime), what made him so annoying?

Well, his between song rant was usually something like:

(Screaming): This next song is about not giving a fuck if you fit in. When this shit starts, I want you to go fucking crazy and create the best muthafuckin mosh pit ever!!!!

Phil Anselmo was about the same, only he cursed twice as much and dedicated every song to "the fuckin troops fightin for our fuckin freedom over in fuckin muthafuckin Iraq"

I wanted to stick lit Roman candles in my ears on a few occasions.

But i don't consider hatebreed to be metal, it is just hardcore, it has as much punk influences as it has metal influences, and i think the singer does it a but punk style, trying to make the audience to go wild. And fact is, i like to pit, and if you want to be in a good pit you have to search it witch the hardcorebands (there are exceptions ofcourse.)
