Good buys!

Goodbyes to you too.

HAR HAR

Yar, a few friends of mine went to see Melvins a couple of months ago (basically because of the Seattle scene connection, but one of them is a metalhead anyway but I totally digress...) and one of them bought this album and I was listening to it (and I was thinking yeah you like this but don't like Mastodon but its nothing to do with them being popular is it go fuck yourself) and rather enjoying it so I picked it up today in the indie store in a 3-for-£15 deal.

I blagged Red Sparowes debut from intarnets a few months ago so when i saw this going for £7 I felt compelled to buy it. I'm a total post-rock n00bzor but I love the instrumental stuff that makes you feel like the world is coming to an end before your eyes and all you can do is sit back and watch it happen.

I think the above is one of the strangest posts I've ever made. Ever. Odd.

I wanted to go to that Melvins gig as well but the mighty Gers were playing in Europe on the same night.

Apparently the drummer from the support band came back onstage midway through the set and there was a three-way drum solo. :omfg:

Didn't Cobain like Celtic Frost as well?

It's amazing how Mastodon like the Melvins, King Crimson and Neurosis and make total shit with their own music :P

Bought it at the show last night.

Also: Venetian Snares -- Rossz Csillag Allat Szuletett

Ordered it Wednesday, hasn't come yet. I'm expecting it soon, though.

It's good. The singer said something like he couldn't stop thinking about wanting to play in a rock band instead of a mathcore one, so Elementary is sort of crammed in between the two genres. His clean vocals are great, his rough vocals suck, and the band is really good with atmospheres so I'm hoping they go all out rock on their next album and just have the odd scream instead of using them for entire songs.

I heard their old singer (guy from Mare) recorded vocals for a few of the songs that will be on the Japanese edition or something, that should be awesome :)

That's good. Relapse certainly seemed to be bigging them up, and Relapse generally release some good shit, so I keep meaning to check them out.

Machine Head - Supercharger
Nneka - Victim Of Truth

The MH rocks. The reason the kids like nu-metal is the same they like metalcore - something to bounce around to.
