I personally think their older albums are ten times better. The new ones are good but as OFC said "it wore thin, because it was catchy, but in the kind of way that familiarizes you with the ENTIRE album in a very small number of spins".

yeah.

I wish they would make an album had both verse/chorus and linear songs, and combined the folkyness of their earlier stuff with the more futuristic sounding synths of their last few albums (they're one of the few bands that I can stand using synths in metal).

I played Projector again today, and was pretty impressed (again) at actually how proggy and cool it is. Must get some more of these guys stuff.

Their first 4 albums were so much better than their last 3 because they weren't married to the pop song structure; Projector is underrated. Character and Haven have their moments but as Noodles and KGG mentioned it wears thin.

Currently bidding on The Gallery on Ebay. Someone told me once Projector was their worst, if so, they're pretty awesome indeed.

Projector is one of their best, mainly because it's so different. I love that album. Luckily they did it years ago. If they released that album in today's hate-first culture the band would have been slammed relentlessly.

I really hope not. It was a huge risk they took, but it paid off so excellently. It's probably tied with the Gallery as my favorite.

Song is pretty good, reminded me of Lost to Apathy.

All I want is that they inject enough something to separate it from Character and Damage Done. The Gallery and The Mind's I are very similar in style. Then there's Projector, standing alone. Haven was similar to Character and Damage done, but with more of that atmospheric style that was on Projector.

I think they've done well not standing in one spot for too long in their career. I said a long time ago that the next album needs to step away from that burtal, simplistic style that is Character and Damage Done. This new track offers hope, I guess, with the light keyboard flourishes and stuff. Sundin recently said this: "The 10 songs are extremely varied and showcase all facets of the D.T. experience while breaking new ground as well as reviving some elements that haven't been featured in D.T. songs since the early years."

We'll see if that holds up.

7.5/10 for me. I believe they will have much better songs on the album.

Really nice. I look forward to this album :dio:

I should probably check out Projector though, I've been quite hesistant to do so since most people seem to hate it, but it seems to receive nothing but praise here. Strange

I love Therein though, but haven't heard anything else from the cd.

The Gallery, Haven and Damage Done however, are great albums. Especially The Gallery.

Nice, but I agree that it's more of the same. Since I've already heard this, why would I want another album of the same thing?

Yeah, I will, if I can find it at a decent price. There's just so much good music to get, and so little money at the moment.

I really liked this song, much for the same reasons that OldSchool and emperorblackdoom did. This year is looking great so far.

Projector is good if you can take Mikael Stanne's clean vocals. I think if they weren't so accented it would be my favourite DT album.

Why hast nobody mentioned the Skydancer? Even better than the Gallery (though Gallery is pretty superb).

If only the production were better...
