I need to check out Raintime: Tales From Sadness
People I respect speak highly of this.

And Silent Man Chemical Wedding is the best way to check out Dickinson solo material. Its his best.

Edit just occurred to me that my haul should go in the trash section.

i have been listening to the Tangent for a while now and all three of their albums are real good. Just straight up enjoyable listening.

I've got The Music That Died Alone coming to me now. I've been getting into prog big time over the past few years! Not so long ago I'd never have been able to listen to this style; it's just not heavy enough.

Anyway, I got these in the mail today:

Jacobs Dream - Theater Of War
Invocator - Living To Die

Jacobs Dream - Theater of War is better than most reviews seem to make it out to be. I have had that album for a long time and I still go back for the tracks, Sanctuary, Theater of War, and Traces of Grace, which are the first three tracks.

The first 2 Jacob's Dream are solid stuff. Love the lead singer at times he sounds like Geoff Tate. That said my fav tune on TOW is the instrumental. Enjoy.

I heard a lot of good things about this band, then I bought Drama of the Ages. I thought it was pretty boring. But the first two are very good. I may have to give Drama another try.

Manticora- The Black Circus Part 1- Letters

I'm loving this album more and more, and having the lyrics (well.. letters) is only making it cooler.

You are forgetting the first S/T album, which is their real 1st album, which came before the 2nd S/T album, which came on Metal Blade
On metal-archives it's listed as demo, but it's really an independent release and at the time it was marketed as real album of which there's been 3 pressings already, though probably none available anymore.

Your first DT? Not that I'd expect a man of the world like you to ever be slightly overwhelmed by something, but Images & Words is the one for beginners.

Good point I think I have this on MP3 at home.

Funny you saying that, I do actually have I&W already. And it is easier, you're right, but Awake is starting to click already. Great band...
