I find that I don't really care that much about Emperor anymore. I honestly think they've had their day, and if they make a new album (which they probably will) it'll be awful.

I wouldnt say awful, but mediocre compared to their other works which are all great.

I'm not so sure that they will. Samoth and Trym are having quite the run with Zyklon, and The Adversary gained critical acclaim from jsut about everywhere. Ihsahn has said several times he has nothing more to offer in terms of Black Metal. They just know that the amount of money that can be gained from these live shows is monstrous.

I do agree that the prospect of a new album isn't very exciting. Emperor's is one of the best catalogs of any band ever, and should remain that way.

I agree, they reached a cult status and they better keep it that way.

I agree with EI. Personally i want to see Ihsahn focus on his project...... The Adversary was good but there is room for improvement.

Agreed with EI. Emperor is a band that has progressed brightly from their first album. Personally, I think Prometheus is one of the best album ever crafted.

That whole album owns. A fine Day to Die is my personal favorite.

Goddamn, I was looking forward to Krisiun, Unleashed, Belphegor in Feb, but now I'm horny for this show. Always something better over the horizon I guess. : )

Personally, the few tracks I heard from The Adversary were rubbish. He really needs to stop doing the King Diamond impressions, surely he used to be able to sing properly?!

Hahah, no, I thought Krisiun/Unleashed/Belphegor was gunna be the best show I'd see all year, but Emperor is gunna top it. I'm more excited for the show AFTER the really good show. I still get to see both. :-p

Come to Massachusetts!! They would sell out a show at the Palladium with little effort.

Ihsahn's King Diamond impersonations are pretty bad. His screechy vocals also sound a lot worse these days. On the old stuff he had a great screech, nowadays it sounds kinda forced. Maybe he lost one of his testicles?

I didn't like The Adversary because its name made me think of the Sleepytime Gorilla Museum song where he says "I am the adversarry" really ominously, and then I just want to listen to Of Natural History instead.
