There's no words to describe the level of hatred I have for these spacktards. I'm usually quite ignorant / nonplussed towards this type of band but this bunch of floppy fringed media whores are the absolute worst of a bad bunch of British acts trying to be American and capture the hearts and minds of 13 year olds everywhere.

If this is 'full on British Heavy metal' I'm off to shoot myself in the face.

Didn't Trivium and Within Temptation also toured with Iron Maiden?
I bet the same thing happened to them....or maybe not.

Maybe a good opener for Maiden would be 3 Inches of Blood or maybe Machine Men, IMO.

In more recent years Maiden have always gotten in trendy young bands as support. Christ, in 2003 it was Funeral For a Fucking Friend. Yech. They say its to give young bands a chance, but we all know they're doing to try and sell those few remaining tickets to kids that wouldn't normally go to a Maiden gig.

(sigh) The only reason BFMV toured with Iron Maiden is because they're from england. And what did they expect, a lot of maiden fans are 40years plus, they dont want to hear a bunch of losers with dyed black hair and eye-liner, so they booed them, as I did.

What do you expect ? You open for Iron fucking Maiden ! The audience isn't going to do any favor if they think you're a bunch of posers. I was at the Montreal show and the only time they got a big pop is when the singer said: "It's great to open for IRON MAIDEN" or something like that.

As for the Maiden opening acts...man I don't know why they almost always pick a style so different of music. You know the crowd is going to hate it. I have nothing against bands like Arch Enemy...but, for someone who listens to Iron Maiden, it's maybe not a good opening band to get you in the mood for classic heavy metal.

The best choice they made was for the "Give me Ed 'til I'm dead" tour where the opening acts were Motorhead and Dio. Now you're talking !

That would probably get less people to see the tour. Heavy metal fans would go for either of those names alone, and then the mallcore crowd would stay at home. It's actually a good thing to let the Bullet For My Valentine fanbase get in contact with real heavy metal.

I hope you're both able to overcome your hearing disability soon. If you two are trying to insinuate that the material on Twisted Sister's "Stay Hungry", "Come Out and Play", and "Love Is For Suckers" is better than the material on Bullet For My Valentine's "Poison" you're way off. Those guys in TS couldn't begin to dream of playing music like that. This is in no way a defense based on a biased opinion. I'm not a BFMV advocate at all. I've heard all the CD's in question though and seen these bands live. I've been listening to and playing metal for 23 years. BFMV blows TS away hands down.

Twisted Sister is a joke. A mere mockery of the genre. They were everything that was awrong with metal in the 80's and today. That Christmas CD was dreadful.

Firstly: "Those guys in TS couldn't begin to dream of playing music like that."

Eddie Ojeda and AJ Pero could blow anyone from BFMV out of the water as musicians, so forget about that line of argument right away.

With regards to: "Twisted Sister is a joke. A mere mockery of the genre. They were everything that was awrong with metal in the 80's and today."

Are you taking the piss? Twisted Sister certainly made a more accessible version Metal. No one's denying this. They also played some straight-up traditional and fairly aggressive metal. You mentioned Stay Hungry and Come Out and Play. Have you heard Under the Blade? Jeez, Burn in Hell is on Stay Hungry. Are you seriously suggesting songs like that are "everything that was wrong with metal"? To file TS with the glam rock bands of the 80s smacks of ignorance.

Bullet For My Valentine, on the other hand, spent nearly 10 years as a band playing Metallica and Nirvana covers before metalcore became popular and they got themselves some slick new haircuts and clothes and started writing songs about hating their ex-girlfriends. They are everything that's wrong with metal today. Get-rich-quick scenesters of the absolute lowest order.

For the record - Love is For Suckers isn't a real Twisted Sister album. It was written and recorded as a Dee Snider solo album before the record company insisted it be marketed as Twisted Sister (none of the band actually played on it). So this album may be the glam fluff you seem to think the rest of their discography qualifies as, but its a different artist.

And yes I stand by the fact that TS was and is nothing more than glam/pop/metal nonsense.

Ok, and Bullet for my Valentine are not pop metal nonsense? I like how you completely sidestepped what I said about them being nothing but trendwhores.

And who gives a fuck what Twisted Sister are "infamous" for. Under the Blade is a metal album with some pop sensibilities, regardless of how "infamous" it is, or what other albums of the ime soudned like. I could get it if you were arguing against them in favour of a heavier/classic band, but for a bandwagon jumping pop-metalcore band? Baffling.

No problem mate, that's all you had to say. Since when did two posts constitute a pissing match? You gave your opinion and I gave mine. If you can't be bothered keeping the debate going, just stop posting instead of announcing that you're going to stop.
