the only BfMV song i heard was in the NFS: Most Wanted, and like most songs on EA games it sucked horribly.

Tut tut. It's almost like you're supporting a legendary heavy metal band instead of playing at a six year old's birthday party.

I can't help but think of Henry Rollins' bit on opening for Maiden

If they had opened for Slayer they wouldn't have had a tongue to complain with! :dio:

Most of the Slayer crowd I was in recently would have lapped them up. Fucking UK poser graduating from minimosher bastards....

Actually I get the feeling the Slayer crowd may not be the fearsome beast it once was worldwide. They have such a huge mallcore following these days.

Way I see it, there was no bad attitude to complain about. Where I saw them, the Maiden fans werent chanting for the band while BFMV was playing, because the place was practically empty, the only thing that was gonna get the Long Island Maiden fans away from their beers and Mets playoff game was Maiden itself.

What the... they opened for Iron Maiden? Thats a pretty retarded lineup. Who's bright idea was it to have a metalcore/emo band open for classic heavy metal? Whatd they really expect to happen in this situation?

For the record, I think Buller for my Valentine is a pretty good band as metalcore bands go. Just not anywhere near the same audience as Iron Maiden.

not surprising considering Slayer's association with hot topic. if i'm not mistaken they went as far as releasing the first single off Christ Illusion exclusively at those stores.

What do you expect ? You open for Iron fucking Maiden ! The audience isn't going to do any favor if they think you're a bunch of posers. I was at the Montreal show and the only time they got a big pop is when the singer said: "It's great to open for IRON MAIDEN" or something like that.

As for the Maiden opening acts...man I don't know why they almost always pick a style so different of music. You know the crowd is going to hate it. I have nothing against bands like Arch Enemy...but, for someone who listens to Iron Maiden, it's maybe not a good opening band to get you in the mood for classic heavy metal.

The best choice they made was for the "Give me Ed 'til I'm dead" tour where the opening acts were Motorhead and Dio. Now you're talking !

Actually, Arch Enemy has plenty of Maiden type armonies in their music. Or had. They're not the worst choice possible.

They should have Paul DiAnno's Battlezone open up the show for them!
