The self-titled album and Det Som Engang Var are my favorites. More metal than Hvis Lyser Tar Oss and Filosofem.

The reissue of Burzum also includes the Aske EP, which contains A Sad Forgotten Lonely Spirit. One of the best Burzum songs IMO.

I've only heard Filosofem, and its really good. Fairly accessible too. But I downloaded it, and I've never seen a Burzum album in a store.

i saw filosofelm in a store once and they wanted 35 dollars for it.

Just do a mail order . i think century media you can get it. There are alot of peopel selling burzum albums online. And you wont pay nearlys much as if you find it in a record store by accident.

And for which you should get. The self titled. Aske is included as jurgen said. On it you get a diverse sampling of burzum. You get some of the more "metalish" songs like war, some abientstuff like dungeons of darkness, the crying orc, and channeling the spirit into a new god. NAd then there are very atmospheric songs like my journey to the stars.

It is definatly the best place to start if your new to burzum and black metal, ( which i assume you would be if your askign abou burzum)

What other bm do you like?

Start at the top with Burzum/Aske, then move forward :)

Then you go from the most raw and simplistic to the more complex albums. Leave Hvis and Filosofem last because why would you start with the two best bm albums ever? :P

I've seen burzum is stores. Theres a local metal shop where I live and they carry a bit of it. But mail order would probably be your best shot anyway. The End records has some I believe.

imo go for Aske/Burzum and Hvis lyset tar oss, then Filosofem... Det som Engang Var is the weakest of his bm album, and there's no reason to get it imo.

You can get the albums from http://www.redstream.org, an american site, pretty fast and i think the shipment is free - i never pay for that. They take credit card and paypal

Pretty strange, they readily sell Burzum in all the metal stores I've ever been to.

Filosofem.

If you can take the rawer end of metal, take them chronologically. Make sure you get the remasters, although I doubt you'd find the original CDs...

Yeah start with the S/T and work form there. I have a distributor friend who owns a Black Metal shop here in town, I can hook you up with him if you like. He's really cheap too.

I enjoy Emperor, Darkthrone and Immortal. I'm also quite partial to a bit of Dissection
