What a kickass lineup! Here it is so far, and they still haven't announced the Saturday headliner yet:

Thursday (2 slots left)
Vanden Plas
Freak Kitchen

Friday (1 slot left)
Sonata Arctica
Redemption
Virgin Steele
Raintime

Saturday (2 slots left)
Firewind
Threshold
Communic

My New Year's resolution is going to be finding a way to attend this show. I guess there's only about 900 tickets and they sell out around 15 minutes after they go on sale.

I would someday love to go to this festival as well. If you dont get a chance to go you can always catch the dvd when it comes out. I think that will be a early thing now. I put my preorder in for the Progpower VII dvd

I would go for all of those bands. This is ten times better than last year's line up.

I know, that was my first thought. Plus, there's still 5 more chances to for them to get another kickass band. I'm going if I have to walk there and sleep in the venue.

I'd go if Cellador played. That way I wouldn't have to pay for a plane ticket. I'm so broke right now I could shit. Weddings will break people.

Wow! I would love to go see this. I still need to hear Vanden Plas!

I've been going since the third installment and having another MR member hit it up with me would be bad ass. Tickets usually go on sale in March / April. The quickest they've sold out was three days I think for PP IV, 6 days for PP III and a little over a week for V and VI. They'll run about 130. Really, it is worth it. If anyone has read my past Prog Power reviews you'll see it's just a blast to attend and a great weekend of music and band interaction. C'mon Adam let's break it off in Atlanta Power H style.

I'm going, one way or another. I've just got to convince a couple friends of mine that it's worth the price (the new Vanden Plas album should help with that!). We'll have to meet up down there. I've read your past reviews and the whole thing sounds great. One question, is the Thursday night kick off show included in the ticket price?

EDIT - OK, the newest website update answered my original question, Ben. They're not releasing the ticket price info for Thursday night until February. Any idea how much those will run?

2 for 2 on that addition, and I was already crossing my fingers for Pagan's Mind, awesome.

Also, still no Saturday headliner announced yet! This is gonna be a kickass show. They also posted the ticket info, $110 for Friday and Saturday night. Thursday night ticket info to be posted in Feb/Mar.

Thursday, what used to be the "preparty" is now the "Prog Power Showcase." Tickets for that ran for 25 bucks last year. Since it got upgraded to the main stage chances are it wont sell out all 1100 tickets for that one day. If you can though, try to get in by Wed for the pre-pre-party drunken karaoke / chill fest with everyone. I'll be there for a week staying with some friends. Now lets get Mike and Marty down there .

Seriously; think we can plan something like this? That would be awesome! I'm down.

Maybe I should change the name of the thread to ProgPower VIII/MR.com Convention 2007.

If you're really interested though, go to progpowerusa.com and get the details. It would be pretty sweet if a bunch of us attended.

I already talked my Roommate into taking the road trip from Jersey with me. i am so down for this. I have been wanting to go sonce the first one and never had achance. This year I am making a point of it.

I have two questions though:

1 - Are there any rumors who the last band announced will be?

2 - Can something be set up so that everyone that is going from this site somehow meet up at some point? That would be sweet.

Seriously. I'm definitely interested.

I haven't seen any, but it will be a headliner, so I'm guessing it will be pretty good. Also, there's still 2 slots left for Thursday night.

Yeah definitely. I would say Ben would be the best person to plan the location, seeing as he's the ringer.
