sahg would most definitely fit in the doom category as well. i suppose the sword could as well, they are stoner/trad doom I guess you could say. I agree though that both should be in the top five of doom releases

Yep, agreed. The Sword are a bit iffy, but they fit better here than anywhere else.

Yeah, The Sword are a tough one. I consider them more of a stoner rock band with doomy moments.

Would you consider "Before The Dawn" to be dark gothic metal with maybe a mix of something else, or no?

Eyes of Fire and Amorphis can both go in the avant-garde voting thread. Keep in mind we're using "avant-garde" loosely as a catch-all for albums that don't fit very well into any other genre.

I'd put that in the dark/gothic category.

I agree on Before The Dawn, but I think Amorphis should go into the dark/gothic thread.

I can´t really agree with this "dark/gothic"-Amorphis, even that avant-garde sounds better, but on the other side, considering Amorphis as avant-garde doesn´t sound really right. Well, I do as others decide.

That sounds pretty good decision when comparing to the other possible choices.

Yeah, I really could just change the name of the Avant-Garde category to "Hard to Categorize". :)

Just follow others' lead, and everything will pan out.

Everyone who's planning on voting for Amorphis, go ahead and vote in the dark/gothic thread since we've already had two people vote for Amorphis in the dark/gothic voting thread and none vote for it in the avant-garde thread.

Does the new Melvins go into the doom section or like avantgarde?

Put it in hard rock. I think Zad has already voted for it there.

Man, I'm really shocked that only one person (beside myself) voted for Solitude Aeturnus in the doom top. I'm even more amazed that noone voted for them in the overall top 15. Weird.
