A general question.
What metal do you listen to to get in the Christmas mood?

Personally I’m I firm believer that any Christmas present that will be wrapped to the tunes of Wintersuns album Wintersun will bring great joy to the receiver :)

Trans-Siberian Orchestra, but when I listen to a band I really liked last year during Christmas it reminds me of that time and gets me in the Christmas spirit.

After seeing this thread, I went and listened to "Carol of the Bell"--Trans-Siberian Orchestra and it kills! I might have to get one of their CD's. I don't really understand why they're on this site, though.

They're...an orchestra. Not metal...at least not to my ears.

There is a lot of metal in TSO. There are also members of Savatage. However, there is a lot more than just metal... so I can see why one might think they don't belong here... kind of. They don't belong in the Death, Thrash, Black metal forum that's for damn sure.

They're like the Dead Winter Dead/Wake Of Magellan era of Savatage gone Broadway. They most definitely kick ass! Check this out, heatseeker:

WIZARD OF WINTER

That dude's light show was so badass!! :dio:

Is this near you? :omfg: That dude is insane! But I'm totally cool with it because it gave TSO even more recognition and they deserve it for being ignored in Savatage! Isn't it amazing how much public perception plays a role in being successful?

That's definitely metal. It's nothing at all like the other songs I heard on YouTube, though.

They're a dynamic band. Those three Christmas album obviously are more seasonal, but they can be played at any time and still be good. They have a non-Christmas album, too:

An awesome album!

Beethoven's Last Night is superior to the christmas records, in my opinion.

Well, sure, I can understand that. You can listen to it whenever without feeling like a tool.
