The Unholy Alliance finally rolls on to Europe, with Slayer, In Flames, Children Of Bodom, Lamb Of God and Thine Eyes Bleed the bands on show.

Is this going to be a carnival of bands past it and young pretenders who'll never be? Or will it be the second coming of Slayer and In Flames, Children Of Bodom showing that they're not in the process of selling out and Lamb Of God finally earning the mass respect of Europe?

My ticket's bought for the Cardiff show, and I'm gearing up for what I hope will be the best show in years.

Who's going and where?

Going to Glasgow.

I'm expecting:
-Bodom to play 4 songs and pick shitty ones like Angels Don't Kill,
-In Flames to play a bunch of new crap and maybe throw in a couple of decent songs,
-Me not to give a toss about the other two bands
-Slayer to be good
-the crowd to be bawbag central

Worst case scenario is

Thine Eyes Bleed are bad Slayer rip-offs
Lamb of God do their Pantera Impersonation
Children of Bodom do their Trivium Impersonation
In Flames do an acoustic set of Soundtrack to your Escape
Slayer decide that the late '90s were their golden era and play Diabolus In Musica in it's entirity

Best case Scenario

Thine Eyes Bleed are Good Slayer rip-offs
Lamb of God actually are good Pantera rip-offs
Children of Bodom apologise for trying the 'Trivium' aproach of 'Are You Dead Yet?' and rip into Hatebreeder from start to finish
In Flames apologise for 'Soundtrack...' and everything after it, promise not to do it again and tear into Whoracle
Slayer decide to play Dave Lombardo drummed songs only and play Reign in Blood in it's entirity

One can dream...

I could have seen them last year if i'd gone interstate, and my friend who did see them said they played lots of tracks they normally never play from Hatebreeder and Something Wild. Im still mad.

I heard thine eyes bleed were really good? (All these new band names suck, so im prolly thinking of some other band lol)

I'd see that. Slayer, Lamb Of God, Children of Bodom and Thine Eyes Bleed are all supposed to be good live, or so I've heard.

Thine Eyes Bleed are a decent death/thrash/core type band. I've listened to their album like 5x but I've been doing other stuff while I was so I can't say much else.

I was planning to go to the Cardiff show, but spent the money on Tool tickets instead

Interesting trivia, the bassist for the opening band, Thine Eyes Bleed, is the BROTHER of slayer bassist Tom Araya.

Not to be a jerk... but, the entire show will suck, and no amount of beer will change that.

Fatality.

I saw Tool at Download, they were ok, but This IS SLAYER!!! Total mind-pounding destruction and probably their last great tour before they get too old or too Metallica!

I'd see Tool again over seeing this tour.

the only way the show will be worth it is if every band except Slayer is killed in a suicide bombing attack.

Hahaha, yeah, each as they start their first song. In Flames would be all, "Damn, well we're SURE lightning can't strike the same place 4x's in a row..." and then they'd be pushbroomed off the stage in pieces...
