I learned a valuable lesson yesterday. This is what transpired:

I drove an hour to go see DragonForce. I got there an hour and a half before doors so I could get up front (I'm only 5'1", so I can't see shit if I'm not up against the gate). The line was amusing, but still. Hour and a half wait, plus another hour inside. Horse the Band came on and were pretty damn awesome, I have to say. Excellent energy on stage. All That Remains were up next, who I was willing to sit through only because DragonForce were headlining. Anyway, about halfway through the set change, my stomach started to hurt. I ignored it, since that's not unusual for me of late. As the minutes passed, I felt progressively worse, until I thought I was going to throw up. Then this wave of disorientation hit, and I was about 7/8 of the way to passing out in short order. It was really scary; I was there by myself, as usual, and it's an hour drive down a major interstate (the Mass Pike, for those who know). I had a security dude lift me out, and I got water and sat down for awhile. I felt awful all through All That Remains; a little wobbly at a couple points, but nothing like that first terrible episode. I felt better once DragonForce took the stage, thank goodness.

The lesson? Food and sleep are good. I haven't been getting much of either for the past month; I think it was a combination of dehydration, low blood sugar and general exhaustion. Basically, my body said, "Well, fuck you, too."

So make sure you eat and sleep.

Wow, you suck at going to gigs, huh?

So, did anyone here get kicked out of a club on Saturday night for dragging a mosher to his feet by the neck?

Just me then?

I do not. I've gone to plenty, taken massive amounts of abuse, and suffered no ill effects. I just suck at taking care of myself.

Why won't the fucking world let me buy the new Falconer album? Jesus, I've been to my local indie store that always gets this stuff in, nothing. I try the major outlets, nothing. I go to both Amazon and Play and both are listing a fucked-up tracklist with no mention of whether the bonus CD is included in the version they are punting. I try two sites listed on the Falconer website - both all in Swedish and charging way over the odds. The European Metal Blade shop isn't working on my compooter for some reason and the US shop doesn't have the new album. Arrgh!

I have a similar problem on ebay with bass guitars. Some cunt waits until the bidding is just about finished then cuts me off! Ggrrrr!

Besides that, today I painted my toilet. Well, I painted the walls blue and later painted the inside of the bowl brown. Haha, that reminds me. I was told last night at work that there used to be a [insert politically correct term for tard here\] working there. One night he ran to the bog and didn't quite make it, spraying shit all over the walls and floor in a glorious fecal explosion. THEN HE SIGNED HIS NAME IN IT WITH HIS FINGER!!1! That is one way to have your employment terminated.

:omfg:   @ ta/urd story.

I am at a loose end. I started my course and immediately have 9000+ words to write for the start of November. So I should probably start them... But, reader, the truth is I don't want to :lame:

Well I'm feeling like shee-it today and the paracetamol I took at lunch is just making me drowsy.

Also, as I wasn't feeling bad enough this morning, the Ragnarok Festival has been cancelled, only a month before it was meant to happen.

Gamma Ray, Doro, Korpiklaani, Dream Evil, Circus Maximus, Suidakra, Kalmah, Intense, Astral Doors, Elvenking (phew) along with a pre-show that included Skyclad, Evile, Pitiful Reign and Paragon. All snatched away after around 9 months build up.

i feel, er, decided!

those assholes at UNL won't even help me out when i have questions about transferring credits and keep refering me to other people. then they call me Jimmy Jim. no, i don't know why either. anyway with all that BS i've missed 4 weeks of second-year classes and i'll be damned if i'm going to spend a sleepless week to catch up. it's not my fault the paper pushers are such assholes.

everyone at UTL has forgiven me for my betrayal (the T for Technical and N for New Universities of Lisbon are arch-rivals) and i was welcomed back.

UTL :dio:

What a weird day. I woke up to find the wife spooning me and stroking my knob :dio: ...

Anyway...

Then I checked my avairy before heading out and saw that my blue budgie was dead. Oh well, he was very sick and old  . So off to uni I go. At the end of my first class I got an assignment back (85/100 :dio: ) and discovered that it was the last class for the year! I thought I had 3 more weeks to go! :dio: :dio: . After that I picked up some other assignments from the office (25/40 :lame: , 27/30 :dio: :dio: ). After some lunch I wandered around until my next class and sat next to this guy I know. Some idle chit-chat until he says to me "Gee, only this morning I found out our exam is now and not tomorrow".

SHIT! So I bolt over to my room with 5 minutes to spare and sat for an exam I thought I was having tomorrow. Having done that, I am now officially on holidays! :dio: :dio: :dio: :dio: :D

Errgh!

Today my wife and I were on the train heading into town for an outing. Next to one of the stations that we stopped at along the way was an area that was being cleared to make way for a new car park. In this area was one of those big mechanical digger things and quite a bit of rubbish, including an old shed. As we were waiting for the train to go again I looked out the window and noticed this guy standing next to the shed wearing like a construction uniform. He started fiddling with his pants and I said to my wife, "ha! That guy is about to have a piss!". She looked away, but I didn't manage to in time. He blopped out his entire gentitals, scrotum and all, and then blopped them back in again. The image is seared into my brain. As the train pulled away from the station I realised that he didn't piss at all.

I'VE BEEN FLASHED!

There are times I hate living in a dorm. Normally I'm up until all hours of the night, but I've been under the weather and I was exhausted last night, so I went to sleep at a quarter past 10. We're on October break right now, and some people down the hall seem to take that as license to be obnoxious. There were three or four of them roaming the hallway at a quarter past midnight last night, giggling and gossiping at the tops of their lungs. I asked them to quiet down, and they did, until they went back to their friend's room (five doors down the hall from me) and proceeded to have a party, with music so loud I could make out lyrics. I asked them to be quiet again, and they did turn it down, but then at around 1:30, they were back in the hallway and bathroom again, talking and laughing. I was really pissed off at that point, so I went to the bathroom and said the following:
"SHUT UP! I DON'T KNOW IF Y'ALL LIVE HERE [for some reason, the four years I spent in Virginia come out when I'm angry] BUT IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR FRIEND WHO DOES - SHUDDUP! - I AM REAL GOOD FRIENDS WITH HER NEIGHBOR, HAVE A REAL GOOD STEREO, AND A REAL HEALTHY COLLECTION OF DEATH METAL! SO IF SHE DOESN'T WANT TO BE WOKEN UP BY IMPALED NAZARENE AT VOLUMES THAT COULD LEVEL A SMALL NORWEGIAN VILLAGE AT 3 AM, SHUT THE FUCK UP!"

It was quite cathartic.

This morning I had my first real go at being a real teacher, so I'm on a bit of a buzz. It was really cool - until it came time for the maths stuff. I'm severely mathematically challenged.

Plus I got Pagans Mind enigmatic:calling and I'm playing it loud as loud can be.
