Aw, nice crowd of 7 or 8 bemused people for Grave.

The turnout for gigs in Sweden is pathetic. There were maybe 75-100

Its realy bad here as well for that sort of thing. Over the last couple of years I've seen maybe 100 for Blaze, 50 for Carpathian Forest, 100 for Armored Saint, 99 for Exodus ('cause I was one of the wanks that didn't go :P ). At least Sweden has the excuse of being comparitively big. Scotland is tiny with a population centre as tight a gnat's ass and we still get no one showing up.

Yeah, we had maybe 100-150 people at Exodus and it was not nice to see.

Just got back from MetalCamp and holy shit was it fun.

Kataklysm, Hypocrisy, Amon Amarth, Testament, Opeth, Kreator,
My Dying Bride, Nevermore, Decapitated, Gorefest, Dimmu Borgir.

Highlights for were Kataklysm, Hypocrisy, Amon Amarth and
Nevermore. But all the bands I listed further up played amazing gigs.
The great thing about the festival, was not only the quality of the
bands that was there, but the amazing shows all the bands
put up!

I've never seen Amon Amarth or Hypocrisy do shows like the ones
they did at MetalCamp. [And I've seen both bands quite a number of
times].

The weather was insane, being at least 35C+ during the entire
festival. Naturally, I'm quite red now, :). I've got about 350 pictures
and 4-5 movies from the festival. I'll be going through them, and
removing those not suitable or just plain sucky pictures, then I'll
post a link to the gallery!

.:crast:.

Nice to hear u enjoyed my home town :D So was the river to cold or what? it had les than 20C but if it wouldn't be there ppl would die of heat (and large dose of alcohol)... Another interesting thing it has been constantly raining since metalcamp :D Some nice info: During the festival 20000-30000 liters of beer were consumated (this only includes beer that was bought at the sceenery)

Pagan Rites, Nailgunner & Satanic Torment

Satanic Torment were OK-ish black metal. Played a good cover of Christ Fire (a VON song, for the posers who don't know).
Nailgunner kicked ass with some well-played, but not overtly technical thrash.
Pagan Rites (featuring some random drunkards on quest vokills) were awesome. Devil Lee Rot is a madman.

Sadistic Intent
Underthreat
Crucified Mortals

Cool show, got there early, talked demo's and 80's glory with Jim Sadist who came with CM, and met the maniacs who prevented Sauron from getting paid that one night... Talked lots of metal, then CM hit the stage, played an amazing set. I knew they were solid... Converted by Decapitation was a solid EP... But, live, they get the sound they were MEANT to record.

Underthreat was melodic death metal. Saddest story of all. Great musicians, uninspired genre, 0 response from stickler metalheads. Boring set.

Sadistic Intent came on, and by this time, I was REALLY fucking sick of hearing triggered as fuck drums (They borrowed Underthreat's kit), but they managed to make the best of it, and made my neck numb from the headbanging. They played an encore that was longer than their set, and it was an awesome way to end the night. They destroyed their faulty equipment, and played as a 3 piece when their new guitarist didn't know the material.

Satyricon, Keep of Kalessin and Insomnium (twice in a week and a half, wtfz?).

I really just went to see KoK - they were slightly disappointing, partly because they had such a short set and partly because the crowd gave them fuck all of a reaction, but also because Obsidian won't get a second guitarist in live. Still good, though. Come Damnation: :dio:

Insomnium were ok, but far too samey and derivative.

Satyricon.....oh man, the Young Team really has taken them to heart. Faggoths ahoy. As soon as they came onstage that horrible surge to the front followed by pushing from side to side bullshit started. I really forget how annoying this shit is because hardly nay of the bands I go to see these days have this sort of problem. As soon as Satyr introduced P.I.M.P. I knew they were going to go batshit, so I backed out and caught the rest of the set from the bar. And I got to see a huge, non-stop mosh pit! That's right folks, we mosh to so-called Black Metal now! During every_single_song. Who the fuck moshes to Mother North? I swear you could just play a loud drum track for these knuckle draggers and they would start up.

As for the music, blech, they played some good BM songs and some crappy non-BM songs. I actually thought Now, Diabolical sounded pretty cool (it was the first time I'd heard it).

Cause for Effect and Sabot

Both bands are duos with bass and drums. Cause for Effect play fusion grindcore and Sabot play a more groovy and less aggressive brand of weird hardcore-based music.
Both kicked ass.

I'll be seeing Exodus and Napalm Death on the 2nd! Holy shit, I just might die, or piss my pants like a little girl, I don't know yet.

The bad news, fucking Fagbreed is the headliners!?!?!?!?!?!?

How in the fuck are legends like Napalm Death and Exodus playing second fiddle to garbage like Hatebreed? Jamey Jasta should be hung by his toe nails for this atrocity.

I couldn't get excited about going to see Exodus. I mean, the last album was not good and with only Gary Holt left, who are you really going to see?

I like Shovel Head. I hated it at first, but with proper time I have come to aprreciate it. I never got to see the "tr00" Exodus, so this is as close as I'm ever going to get. I think it will be worth it to get to see Paul Bostaph and hopefully Lee Altus. I never cared too much for lard ass, I mean Zetro anyways, so it's no big loss to me, and Rob Dukes is a capable replacement.

Gigantour!!!!

I only really went for Megadeth and Overkill, but the others were pretty good.

Opeth and Lamb of God were good, The SmashUp was bleh, and Arch Enemy was no good. I never liked them and never will. but the chick is pretty hot, she has really big eyes though.
