...All the bands who created, THEN FAILED death metal by recessing the best qualities, I just wanna remind everyone of who saved death metal, ie Angelcorpse. Speaking of which, Angelcorpse is back together. Hail Satan. This is the official Angelcorpse/Pete Helmkamp/ and wtf, we'll throw in Order From Chaos thread, so discuss. First person to say Nile saved death metal is a moron. Angelcorpse wouldn't sell in a Best Buy because it doesn't have the stupid poser attraction qualities that make Nile accessable for the wrong reasons. All respect to both, still Angelcorpse takes the cake.

I saw Angel Corpse live in Little Rock. They were terrible! The had fog machines and lights, leather-spiked arm bands and they were playing at The Closet, which is called that because it was the size of about two bedrooms.

Yeah, Order From Chaos fucking rules, but Angelcorpse isn't about old school material, it was a modern take using the tools of old age mentality, and it brought back the viciousness that was needed in a new way. Black Death, kinda, I agree, but in reality, those are just traditional Death Vox x2. Look at Morbid Angel's vox style in the beginning. Everything else = DM, but god it was like the future came and slapped us all in the fucking face with its cock.

I wonder what the new stuff will sound like... Can they revive and reinvent a SECOND time?

That is usually the case with the good real death metal bands.... anyway have you listened to Impiety's Skullfucking Armageddon ? If not you'd definately dig the hell out of it.

yeah it's really stupid that people think generic growling + blastbeats + copycat riffs = DM

I'm not too hyped with the reunion anyhow... since it's a reunion and you know how its like most cases. At least you might get the chance to see them live.

Absofuckinglutely, awesome mention of another band who pulled off a great fucking record in an age of sinful change.

What do you think of Ravager, and for that matter, Hacavitz? Not necessarily related, but Impiety gained members from the former, and the latter fucking destroys without end on Venganza. Both take steps back to a finer day, but keep things moving forward.

I dont know about Ravager.... the brutal death tag kinda keeps me away hehe. Hacavitz is pretty awesome, though Mortem, Hadez, Anal Vomit takes the cake for modern South American hell metal for me at the moment hehe.

hmmm if you've heard Impiety, then how about ABHORER ? They are the Singaporean black deathrash cult hehe. If you havent i'll send you their demo etc.

and yeah that's the way things should be, modern approach to the old school sound. Only death is real !

Ravager and Hacavitz are both great bands, Sam the guitarrist of Ravager is now on a really good thrash metal band called Piraña,
other mexican bands worth mentioning are Shub Niggurath, Cenotaph, The Chasm, Raped God, Foeticide, Warcrusher and Disgorge.

I dunno, i havent seen it in a while (i have it on tape), Luzbel are actually the fathers of the Mexican metal, like V8 for Argentina or maybe Baron Rojo for Spain, there is also a band called Lvzbel formed by former members of Luzbel, but they pretty much suck, another Mexican band that should be mentioned is, Transmetal as far as i can remember they were one of the first Mexican extreme metal bands (Death/Thrash) something similar like Vulcano were for Brazil.
