In Pursuit of The Green Lion by Judith Merkle Riley
The Tamuli series by David Eddings

Im really excited about The Tamuli, I didnt even know there was a sequel to The Elenium when I was reading it. And The Elenium blew me away. So yesterday I went looking for Book 1 of The Tamuli, found all 3 in a used bookstore paid 15 dollars for the whole thing, not bad.

I have become a huge Guy Gavriel Kay fan over this summer. What a fantastic author.

We just finished this in my AP Lang class:

It ruled. 72 (unabridged) pages of some of the most dense literature I've ever read.

Also, I'm on a goddamn mission to finish Infinite Jest within the next couple months. But that's not really a bad thing, the book is incredible. I need to force myself to read it more.

Heart of Darkness really is one of the greatest books ever written. Its hard to get through, but I don't think a book has ever affected me emotionally as much as that one has.

Dark Tower update: so I finally get my hands on Wizard And Glass, only to realise that I haven't read The Wasteland yet. Bugger.

I don't know why everyone likes Steven King so much...I mean, yeah, he writes some good stuff but he's in no way this god of an author like everyone treats him.

Or maybe it's just me.

When you suggested it a while back I almost paid full price, I'm glad I didn't buy it then! =) The guy I work with is reading it now, he'll be done with it tomorrow. It'd better be good, sucka!!

Right now I'm reading:

Yes, like Poe but less hysterical. It is all rather similar, however cool Yog-Sothoth is (and he is very cool indeed. Think Cthulhu would take him down eventually, though). King is undeniably a good writer, even relative crap like The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon. Read Misery, heatseeker. Good stuff.

And I've ordered it from teh librarareee, Rad.

Coolz. I've been meaning to read more Lovecraft.

I don't think anyone's saying King is an extraordinary writer, but he has a great imgaination and writes in an easily digestible tone. When on form, he's excellent but when he's off, borderline infuriating.

Excellent! Its probably my least favourite Kay book that I've read so far, but it still is completely amazing. Just don't expect anything like regular fantasy.

I am starting to read a collection of complete works by Plato. I dig what I have read of Plato, so I thought I would pick up more. I might start a book of Nietzsche soon, too.

I find he elaborates on a lot of pointless stuff and fills in his books with tons of filler that has nothing to do with the story or anything else. I thought the first few books of The Dark Tower series were fairly entertaining but I don't really want to hunt down anything past The Wasteland.
