i like the bit shortly after 2:20, it kills. i don't like it when it slows down again.

dunno, that album, i can't listen to it from start to finish. hell i can't listen to a single song from it (except voice of the soul, but that's different) from start to finish.

but if you put together the best moments in that album you could make 3 or 4 damn near perfect songs.

My top 3 tracks from SOP:

1. Bite The Pain
2. Spirit Crusher
3. Scavenger Of Human Sorrow

Bite The Pain has that awsome riff in the chorus, so thats why its only just above Spirit Crusher.

One of my favourites of all time.

A momenty of clarity is probably my favorite just because of the buildup to main solo, and then teh solo kicks ass.

The last album from 'Death', Sound of Perseverance. An outstanding release. Spirit Crusher is one of the tracks.

How about the main riff in "Bite the Pain"? I thought it was awesome; I'm a fan of the longer riffs.

Crystal Mountain is awesome. I think I like Spirit Crusher just a little more though.

My favourite Death album will always be Spiritual Healing for the amazing riffs and crushing heaviness. Another outstanding element of this album is the fantastic solos especially those by James Murphy.

Sadly Spiritual Healing is the only Death album I havnt heard. I have heard a song or two (and really liked them, obviously) but I just ordered it yesterday. Because no one was helping me Tankard so I went with only one Tankard (B-Day) and Death.

Love this song - though to be honest, it isn't even my favorite song off Sound Of Perseverence (that honor goes to Scavenger Of Human Sorrow and the Painkiller cover).

That second riff (after the first riff and just before the song speeds up) has to be one of the best riffs of any late-90s metal song. It just has such a "classic 80s thrash" vibe to it.

Aside from its ending, I don't really see anything special about Crystal Mountain. Don't get me wrong - it's a fantastic song. But then again, isn't just about ANY Death song? The title track (Symbolic), Empty Words, and Without Judgement were better songs IMO.

my favourite Death song is 'Empty Words'. I love the chorus riff, and the solo kicks ass.
