I think it's pretty awesome. Definitely doesn't sound like Pantera either. Looks like there will be some variety on this album.

They've gone metalcore on this album, cookie-cutter metalcore. I've never liked the band, but they've definitely changed. They're more like Killswitch Engage now. Even the vocals sound really processed on this new album.

I'll admit, though, it's better than their other albums, though now they're very typical.

Clearly you have no idea what you're are talking about. Killswitch Engage? Have you heard more of the album than the 2 songs I have? There is nothing cookie-cutter metalcore about this band.

Yes, I have heard the entire album and it's nothing like their other albums. The vocals are VERY processed and less heavy in many, many spots, the riffs and song structures are very typical of the metalcore genre. Wait until you hear it.

How is this not metalcore??

That's metalcore by definition, dude!!

Whether they are metalcore or not is debatable. You're not just saying that though. You are saying the are cookie-cutter metalcore and that's just not true. They sound nothing like Killswitch Engage. Please don't proclaim the greatness of Trivium then come in here and tell me LoG is just another metalcore band.

I am not proclaiming Trivium is great, I said one song was damn good, not a very good track record for the band. I have always said they sucked, but I have also always said their music is good, but the vocals are shit.

Lamb Of God are another band I've never liked, but if you sit here and deny that this new album, or the songs you've heard, are not different than their other albums you're clearly not listening. This new album has more in common with Killswitch Engage than previous Lamb Of God albums.

I never said it wasn't different. Anything in common with Killswitch Engage? Nope.

Absolutely. Sure, the very melodic choruses and stuff aren't there, but overall it's a typical metalcore album. The band has lost their identity on this album.

I'll try to remember it tonight, Husker.

It's good indeed. I am really starting to get into Lamb Of God, for good. As well as my non metal friends.

I am dumbfounded at some things that are said here. How is this NOT metalcore? Are you saying this because you've bashed metalcore time and time again here so you just can't admit to liking a metalcore band, or are you just so unfamiliar with the genre that you don't know metalcore when you hear it?

Let's be honest here, Lamb Of God was pretty close to being metalcore before this album, this is one is just more of that mainstream metalcore sound. I am not slamming the band here, I don't like them, but I have nothing against metalcore, so by me saying this it's not meant as an insult.

nah I like a lot of metalcore and thought that song was just boring. The vocals are kind of metalcore but the rest is just groovish thrashy stuff...

Metalcore is often groovy thrashy stuff, son, depending on whether the band has more hardcore influence or metal.

But Killswitch Engage are more At The Gates minus guitar solos plus breakdowns and clean vocals type stuff and LoG have guitar solos and don't have clean vocals.
