I've gotten a huge boner for brutal death lately and have been scooping up albums to please my ears. I hear that this band is crucial to the genre but I need to know where to start. Any advice as to what their best offering is would be a great help.

Dechristianize is awesome. The lead guitar on that album is just amazing.

Yes Dechristianize is excellent. But also check out older stuff.

I'm not a fan of brutal death but Dechristianized seemed like it was one of the best in the genre.

I liked Dawn of the Apocalypse the best.

Well there seems to be a concensus so I suppose that is the one I will begin on. I can't wait to hear it if it is as good as people keep saying. I doubt it will topple pierced from within or anything but my expectations are very high.

Absolutely mindblowing. I got it yesterday and have listened to it from start to finish at least 6 times. You were very correct about the orgasm. After Benton's sick growl of "Let the killing begin" I shot an 8 roper in my pants and almost drove into some little faggy kids playing on the side of the road. :twisted:

Every second is immaculate. The brutal parts are incredible and the melodies are beautiful. I was apprehensive about the song lengths but they really pulled off epic death metal like I've never heard. The songs never get stail.

Suzuki is god. Incredible drummer and guitarist. Makes some of those black metal "renaissance" men(Ihsahn and Abbath not included ) look like complete assholes. Truly a very talented individual.

Thanks for the advice, this one is going to be spun thousands of times and is the best purchase I've made in quite a while.

I own Dawn of the Apocalypse, I've just never really sat down and listened to it. This thread has inspired me.

Everything but their demos is fucking amazing. Dive right in.
