black or thrash?

for me its definantly thrash, but what do you think?
which genre is the best? lets see?
black will probably win, cuz of all you bm heads on this here thing.

If there was an option, I'd have chosen black-thrash (Deep Tracts of Hell is so fucking awesome) but I have to go with black.

For me BM is a superior genre and nothing comes even close to it. I don't mean other genres are bad, no I enjoy them too, as I said I care for content of the music not for it's outer shell. But what makes BM superior is a thing that only in this genre there are so many great bands.

no disrespect meant to thrash. I like thrash and own many thrash albums, its just that when you get right down to it, BM is better, in my opinion any ways

I have no doubt, there is no other thing like black metal. All the other genres have a lot in common, one being more hateful or more simplistic or more based on whatever. Black metal stands out because it has something under the surface that no other form of music has, a deep and hard to describe feeling that makes it possible to be beautiful and raw at the same time. I do respect the other genres and I enjoy listening to the better bands, but they all can bore in time.

Thrash gets my vote.

I know you BManiacs love how BM makes you feel, but I for one feel somewhat annoyed by the majority of the genre, though I WILL ADMIT! ...There are some quality bands out there.

Either way, thrash makes me bang my head, is always spinning, and the reason I love so many other genres of metal, because this is where it all started for me.

I love both genres....well more accurately I love the first wave of Black Metal. But I am a slave to the thrash, I need the speed, the solos, the maniacal vokills. I have to be in a certain mood for BM, I dont have to for Thrash, so I guess it comes down to that. Both WERE great at one time, BM is going downhill, and Thrash is just starting to re-emerge.
