Hey, I saw Helloween too last week. Pretty much like dreaming_h said, Deris was impressive, so was Loeble. PyroMan, I'm sorry you couldn't see them, you missed a great show. I heard they also taped the show in Bulgaria for their next DVD. The filming was originally scheduled for the Bucharest show, but unfortunately the venue was too big for the people there. I heard there were about 5000 in Sofia.

Seeing how impressive they were live, after enjoying The Legacy quite a lot, confirmed to me that, right now, Helloween are indeed amongst the very best in the whole scene.

Yeah, that's what I heard too and I missed my chance to see them.

In front of a capacity crowd of 5.000 great and completely enthusiastic fans in the Winter Palace Of Sports in Sofia/Bulgaria the German melodic metal legend HELLOWEEN has recorded the first of three concerts for a planned Live-DVD/CD package. The other two concerts that are planned to be recorded for the DVD/CD are Tokyo (Japan) and Sao Paulo (Brasil). The band is still on tour in Europe in support of their new CD “Keeper Of The Seven Keys – The Legacy” and will head for 6 concerts to Japan and 12 concerts to South America in the next weeks.

I bet our crowd is going to be the loudest and will outshout those brazilians and japs. I'll be sure to check the DVD when it's out.

Good luck even seeing Sabaton - their set is 3 songs. Three.

Awesome fucking gig last night! All the bands were good or great!

Sabaton were first out, and they didn't play 3 songs, they played 6 :P (Panzer Batallion, Wolfpack, Into the Fire, Primo Victoria, Metal Machine and Nuclear Attack from their bext album) They didn't have the best crowd support for the 3 first songs but when they started Primo Victoria all hell broke loose. They didn't have the best sound, though. The vocals were too low and the drums were almost overwhelming. But a good performance nonetheless.

Dragonforce entered the stage while a strange voice held a little speech that ended with "the fastest band in the entire fucking world"! They started with My Spirit Will Go On. But they suffered even more from the low vocals. ZP doesn't have the powerful voice of Sabaton's vocalist and sometimes he was barely audible. They played all of their best songs IMO, Through the Fire and Flames, Fury of the Storm, My Spirit will go on, Valley of the damned and their best ballad (Dawn over a new World). Just like Sabaton, they didn't have the best crowd support for the first songs but by the end of their set, the crowd was chanting "Dragonforce, Dragonforce!" as if they were the headliner.

After Dragonforce's set it took an eternity before Edguy entered the stage, but at least they got the sound fixed. They opened with Catch of the Century ( :? one of the weaker songs from Rocket Ride IMO) and then Tobias started to talk with the crowd. He's such a great frontman. They did some really Edguy-exclusive stuff like:

They played Trini-fucking-dad  Halfway through the song, Tobias took out something that looked like a flute and started to play the melody for the song.

Halfway through the drum solo, the lights went down and then the drummer came back, dressed up as Darth Vader, and they started to play the theme melody for Star Wars. Fucking nuts.

The setlist was good, but could have been better. They didn't play the 2 songs that Rad mentioned, and they played Save Me as the only ballad. WTF? Save Me is decent but The Scarlet Rose is better and Land of the Miracle is one of my favorite metal ballads of all time. But they put on a killer show and the crowd was awesome, especially during Vain Glory Opera and Avantasia (Holy fuck the entire crowd sang along during the chorus) and The Trooper :P Too bad they stopped after about 2 minutes of The Trooper, cause the crowd went completely batshit.
Overall it was a killer gig, as good as the Nightwish gig in September if not better :D

I really wish I could have been there, but since there was no way for me to get home after it I couldn´t go. Why couldn´t it have been a couple of months later so that I could have gotten my driving licence, will be 18 in less than three weeks.

Damn sounds like a good time. I hope to se Edguy some day. They are one of my all time favorite power metal bands, despite their recent release.

I totally missed your post, sorry bout that.

Yeah I plan on going. It will be the biggest thing this country has ever seen (metal related that is). To bad there are no tickets for each day, because there are some groups I really don't care about seeing. They should be announcing the band play schedule some time soon.

Yeah! those are awesome line-ups. Very anxious to see them
especially Kamelot + Epica since i've never seen them.

I've seen Katatonia and Daylight dies together back in 2004.

As I said in the Lich Lord forum, I saw Armored Saint last week - they were amazing! Bush completely slays as a live vocalist (and seems like a genuinely nice lad too).

Last night I went to see the local Power Metal heroes Syth, who were brilliant as always (the way they've taken the loss of their founding guitarist/songwriter in their stride is amazing, at least when it comes to playing).

The other bands...... The first band were a real crew of amateurs. As near as I could see not a single person was there to see them, and the poor fuckers just didn't have a clue about how to play as a band. Plus, their singer was just useless. It must have been their first gig.

The second band...urgh. Metalcore/would-be-tech-Death assclowns. Really horrible, and the singer was a cocky little shit pulling all sorts of ridiculous stage moves. Lets hear you doing those high pitched yelps when your balls descend you little cunt (although he actually had a reasonably impressive growl).

The third band were some manner of post rock/post hardcore outfit. Once again the singer was an arse, but I actually somewhat enjoyed them, although I could've done without the yelpy vocals. But they played some impressive Godspeed-like lengthy instrumental passages that were all very hypnotic and cool and stuff.

Ddin't stick around for the last band. The looked xcore. Anyway, Syth good.

Just saw Twisted Sister with Scorpions as the headliners.
Twsited Sister was average at best, but the Scorpions 2 hour set
was great. I really enjoyed them, they give a great show and they played most of their best songs. It was an outside show and there was about 80,000 people out there. atmosphere was awesome. for those who are curious the show took place on the Plains of Abraham in Quebec city.

Correction: It is actually reported that there was over 100,000 people at the show, which is not hard to believe.
