But what thrash vocalists do you like more playing that style? (I mean the style of RTL era obviously)

Any of them. Seriously, it's nothing definate; I just find his voice annoying. The rest seem less...rednecky.

You still haven't justified your attempted trashing of his instrumental skills (and those of whichever one of the bass players you were talking about).

It's been a while since I've listened to it, so I'd have to before I could answer that. Which I'm not prepared to do.

Seriously, why is he any better than...anyone else? From Max Cavalera to the guy from Bathory.

I didn't say Jim was anything special. But you said two musicians (decided which bass player you meant yet?) were crap at what they did without any justifiction.

I love the old fall back "haven't listened to it in a while" which essentially equates to "I wasn't expecting to get called out on this."

Lol. Ok, maybe I'll accept that one of their many bassists may have some skillz...

My favorite album is whichever one kills them while they are recording it.

Or Ride the Lightning, becuase they used a studio drummer!

Seriously though, Kill Em All. Why? Dave fucking Mustaine.

BLASPHEMY!

instrumental ability aside, you have to agree that Metallica had some KILLER solos back in the day, and some killer riffs too.

Jim's vocals are also nice, even in the Black Album. but that's down to taste i guess... though i prefer him over certain singers that sound like they're going through puberty.

I do not like the 'Talica because:

1. James' singing is crap.
2. James is a crap guitarist.
3. Kirk is a very average guitarist.
4. Lars is a crap drummer.
5. Wotsisname the bassist is crap.
6. They write crap songs.

That is why I do not like the 'Talica.

James used to be a fairly decent singer. But lately he's been fucking things up. That new sample from a gig in Berlin obviously shows James's been listenin to loads of emo shit. He sounds exactly like any emo singer sings.

As for James being a crap guitarist, I think you're being a little harsh here. Well yeah, he doesn't solo. But he makes up for all the good riffs Metallica came up with. He's undoubtfully one of the best rhythm guitarist around.

SOmeone once said Kirk uses a lot of effects on his solo's and it's not purely skills. I'm not knowledged about guitars so I just won't give a fuck about his work.

Lars...well...let's just say, I've seen better drummers. And I've seen many Malaysian metal bands cover Metallica songs and their drummers did a lot of pedalwork that'll shove Lars further down the shithole.

I'm not a fan of Rob Trujillo but I on't say he's crap. I still wish Cliff was still around to knock some sense into their heads.

I've never found Metallica's songs crappy, except for St. Anger....and most probably the new one coming soon.

Well, flame me all you want for this, but I voted for Load.

Remember, my "favorite" Metallica doesn't necessarily have to be their "best" album. If I was voting for the "Best" Metallica album, I'd probably vote for And Justice For All. However, Load has a special place in my heart for two reasons:

1. It was my introduction to both Metallica and heavy metal.

2. I like the blues-influenced rock 'n' roll style Metallica adopted on the album.

Thus, despite not being their best or even second best album, it is my favorite album by them.

I was tempted to just write "shut up" as my response to this but Ill be more reasonable.

How does Metallica's latter day shittiness detract from the good albums they used to make?

They were always horribly overrated. Just about any Thrash band did it better.

lol, thanks for not telling me shut up. I knew i was goin to be told that one way or another. Don't get me wrong, I love alot of Metallica's albums, maybe all of them in their certain way, but it just that they're way too overrated now, and all i've been hearing is metallica this metallica that. I guess the biggest thing that bugs me about them is St. Anger mostly, and them sueing Napster and a steel company in Sweden called "metallica". Thanks again for not telling me to shut up 8)
