There ia a site pandora.com which builds a personalized radio station for you based on the bands that you enter into it. I have been using it on and off for the last few months and find it pretty cool. It is supposed to be a good way to introduce people to new music. I am putting it in this forum because this is the main type of music that I have used at the site. You will find they dont recognize some bands but they seem to recognize most. Even some fairly unknown bands. I was just wondering if anybody else has used this service (its free) and what your experiences were.

It's great! I made a post in General Music I think about it. Quite popular around here.

I like this site, but I'd like a way that when I minimize it it isn't just a little box in the internet-like its on the bottom of my screen whereever so I can rate songs easier.

Have any of you that use the site actually found any new music through it? That seems to be the point of the site. They play music based on the specific elements of the music and not by genre but I havent really found anything new and I think it is because of the fact that different musical genres share the same elements but not the same "spirit." This is just my experience with the site. I like it overall, but it fails to introduce new music, which is the goal.

No, I'd say it had. It's vastly improved my knowledge of reggae, and there are tracks on there that I couldn't have heard anywhere else, like the new Blind Guardian single.

A couple of new bands it's introduced me to, off the top of my head:

Sirenia
Doom (the crustcore lot)
Severed Head - rather good DM
Tankard
Edit: Blood Ritual
