Will Haven are spazcore, that I know of.
Boris heavy Drone/doom, like Sunn O)) but with drums and vocals, and I think that album there is more Stoner-y. Edit: No, it's a mix. From Archives:
Quote:
Somewhat of a combination between the band's other albums. Contains extremely heavy and groovy parts, ala Heavy Rocks, some droning pieces ala Amplifier Worship and Absolutego, some quieter parts ala Flood, and some noisy parts ala
Feedbacker, etc.

Behold...The Arctopus is technical prog, I think that'd be your best bet, knowing what I do of your tastes,,,

And the rest are new to me.

Well then seems good.
I am eager to listen to Will Haven and Behold... then.

Orthrelm'll probably be good too, it's just I've not listened to them, so I can't reccommend them. B...TA are good, though. Happy listening!

Will Haven aren't very good. I remember them from when I was in the UK. Noisy, no melody, terrible songs. That's what I remember. Or am I thinking of Haven?

Torche is one of the newer stoner rock-like bands, but more raw and punk-influenced. Good stuff.

Boris are brilliant, but it's an acquired taste. Playing Feedbacker right now. Pandora has some, and since most albums consist of just a couple of tracks...

I find it very relaxing.

Will Haven is pretty heavy hardcore. WHVN had some great riffs on but you'll hate the vocals.

Boris kicks ass. I actually just happen to be listening to Akuma No Uta right now, total coincidence. Most of it is drone, tracks 2 and 3, Ibitsu and Furi, are pretty up-tempo hard rock/heavy metal songs. Weird contrast, but somehow they make it work provided you're into both styles of music. The outlying two tracks don't disrupt the mood of the album as much as you'd think, although it is a really weird contrast.

[edit] I hadn't listened in a while. It isn't all drone apart from those tracks. The intro is drone, that's it. The rest is more psychadelic and stonery, and the title track gets back into the feel of the 2nd and 3rd track.

What's the most psychadelic album from Boris?

The best I can do:

Quote:
Absolutego is one good start, but Boris tend to change their style for each album so it's not really a full introduction. Absolutego and Flood are two sixty five minute drone fests; Absolutego is Sunn O)))ish while Flood is more post-rocky. Amplifier Worship is quite groovy, but with a seventeen minute testament to drone tacked on the end.. Heavy Rocks and Akuma no Uta are more like Stoner Rock, but more chaotic than most. Feedbacker's a harsh wall of droning noise, but not as harsh as their Merzbow collaboration stuff, especially Sun Baked Snow Cave which is basically impenetrable. and fucking awesome.

That's what Lizardtail told me...
