King Diamond last week. Excellent show, very theatrical. The King sang in a cemetary (he brought fences on stage, like cemetery fences), next to a coffin with the Abigail name on it. Then he took out Abigail (plastic doll of course) and stabbed it while the intro Funeral was playing. Then came Arrival, Mansion In Darkness, other songs from Abigail I and II, all in the cemetery. He even had a pretty girl pretending to be Miriam pregnant.

For the Puppet Master songs he had the girl acting like a puppet, then she was grandma in a wheelchair (hilarious desguise as well) for Them and so on. Musically, he sang just like on the albums, he was perfect. The organiser said that when he came out of stage he had chest pains, because he really gave his all out there. La Roque ruled as well, I was happy to see one of my favourite guitar players.

Thunderbolt opened, and sounded good (get their debut, Demons and Diamonds for some vintage heavy metal, very maidenesque, with some hints of early Queensryche now and then), then came Griffin, which I didn't like. All in all, a great show.

awesome.

Just saw Kataklysm/Vader/Destruction/Graveworm (minus their keyboard player)/The Absence.

Destruction was fucking incredible, as they should be. Vader was great (second time seeing them) but too short. Kataklysm played well, but I'm not really a fan of their music and why the fuck are they headlining over Destruction anyway?

Saw Machinery/Altair/Subcyde/Goatsodomizer last night. A thrashy evening. I'm not really into thrash, I did however enjoy Subcyde(as always) and beer. Beer ist kreig.

Saw The Absence, Graveworm, Destruction, Kataklysm, and Vader last night in Toronto. No /Speed\Kill/Hate\ wich I wanted to see, but oh well Destruction was there. It sucked though because Destruction had to leave early because of technical problems. Sifringer guitar amp wasn't loud, all I could hear was the bass and drums. But me touching Schmier's bass made up for that. Vader was great and Kataklysm was good to, the lead singer (Maurizio) took a liking to some chick beside me, so I was pretty much in front of him all night. The keyboardist shirt almost fell off while she was spinning her head around. And I got the Vader set list so I am happy. Bought my PainmuseuM ticket while I was there and just bought my Ozzfest ticket today, now they are with my Slayer ticket. I have a lot of shows to go to. All in all a great show. DESTRUCTION NEEDS TO COME BACK TO TORONTO!!!!

Went for Kreator's gig last year in September. Could have caught Mayhem in February this year if not for the stupid fuckin ban. And due to the ban, Destruction decided to call of their plans as well. They were planning to play here last April. Shit.

Singapore's only a few hours away.... dont have a passport ?

A group of Malaysians/Singaporeans went to see Exodus in Bangkok too when they came few months ago.

I'm gonna see Queensryche in July (old times sake...) and Kreator in August, lookin forward to the latter.

Well I do. In fact I contemplated catchin Mayhem in Singapore. As you said, it's a few hours away, I'm in Melaka by the way, which is way closer compared to KL. But the problem is, I was financially tight...wait, I have ALWAYS been financially tight. With the currency exchange twice more than ours, it's a bit stiff here. And besides, I'm still a student, and putting cash together is a big problem.

Yeah I heard about the Exodus gig. Me and my friends were pretty upset we couldn't make it. Did you manage to catch them?

Queensryche and Kreator eh? You're gonna love Kreator. Enjoy yourself.

Solitaire (Finnish speed metal band, check them out if you're into stuff like Razor and Exciter!) and Toxic Holocaust.

Fucking awesome! Both bands played great and the crowd was completely mental. I'm hurting all over right now, a sure sign of a good metal show.

Saw the same show last night here in Arizona. Speek\Kill/ Hate was there though. Didn't get to see Vader though because the system went out towards the end of Kataklysm's set. Every band was highly enjoyable but Destruction and Kataklysm were just awesome.

Vader, Kataklysm, Destruction, Speed/Kill/Hate, Graveworm, The Absence. Luckily these guys came to my shit town.

The last half was amazing. The first two bands were boring, but I was pleasantly suprised by Speed/Kill/Hate.

I got fucked up during Destruction and rode it out through the end of the night. Katadlysm and Vader were so awesome.

I've been to the Graspop Metal Meeting (festival in Belgium) this weekend and it was absolutely great!
Fryday:
Anvil - Oldschool Heavy metal, great festival opener
Panchrysia - Death/Black metal: strong perfomance at wich I had the chance to train my neck muscles
Callenish Circle - Fantastic Dutch Death metal!
Darkane - Boring
Leaves' Eyes - Norwegian band with excelent female vocals
The Gathering - Also Dutch of course! They've played a lot of Doom songs!
Evergrey - Very nice and technical performance
Michael Schenker Group - Great guitar solos!
Moonspell - Ablsolutely fantastic gig! Great Portugese Doom-Death band!
Lacuna Coil - I don't like the music, but I do like the looks of the woman!

Saturday:
Caliban - Huge pit and wall of death, but the music sucked
Nutellica - German Metallica cover band: good Hetfield immitation!
Ancient Rites - Belgium Death metal: pretty good, but too bad they are so obviously nationalistic...hate that!
Akercocke - Boring!
Obituary - YEAHH! Fan-fucking-tastic!
Jon Oliva's Pain - Amazing as always!
My Dying Bride - Wonderful performance!
Opeth - Best gig of the festival!
Alice in Chains - Great new singer!
Soulfly - not too bad
Guns n' Roses - Axl had not much of a voice, but it wasn't as bad as everybody claims it is. Welcome to the jungle!

Sunday:
Ensiferum - I've seen them performe better
Dragonforce - While having a bite to eat. Hilarious. Absolutely not my stile.
As I Lay Dying - Not too bad
Armored Saint - One of the best gigs of the festival!
Exodus - THRASH! Great!
After Forever - seen them too much, this time was boring
Arch Enemy - Amazing. Angela screamed her guts (wich she doesnt have) out!
Helloween - Boring...and it started to rain
Saxon - not too bad
Motörhead - Great as always!

Thine Eyes Bleed, Children of Bodom, Mastodon (SUCK!), Lamb of God, and SLAYER! Overall a great show.

Thine Eyes Bleed - Pretty cool, but not my style...

Children of Bodom - Awesome, not a big set though, should of been after Mastodon

Mastodon - SUCK! Saw them when they opened for Maiden in Toronto however loong ago that was. They sucked then and still suck now. Those guys sucked, they were the suckiest bunch of sucks that ever sucked!

Lamb of God - Well at leat the show rebounded with these guys, not really my cup of tea but they were still awesome and really got the crowd going. Towards the end of their set people started chantin "SLAYER! SLAYER!" it was crazy.

Waitin for Slayer - Walk by Pantera came on and everybody, I mean everybody started to sing along. It was very cool!

Slayer - Well after Walk was over the lights went out and we knew what was coming, the place literally exploded with yells and applauds (sorry for the spelling). Their set was to short to, but it was still awesome some songs they did in no particular order - Seasons in the Abyss, Cult, South of Heaven, Disciple, War Ensemble, Dead Skin Mask, Blood Red, and they ended with Angel of Death. Jeff was so drunk, and Kerry looked pissed (probaly mad that everyone liked old Slayer and he knows that the new album is nothing like that  ) Tom was either drunk or stoned or maybe both. Dave was excellent, as usual.

A very good show, except for Mastodon. One other problem, too many Slipknot t-shirts! But one guy was wearing a G-Unit t-shirt, he stayed well away from the pit. Stupid enough to waer that shirt (shit) but smart enough to stay out of the pit. Plus I got a cool Slayer/Unholy Alliance t-shirt, and I got a lot of "Cool shirt" comments for my Kreator shirt, but one guy asked me who are they and are they anygood. I just looked at him with disgust and ignored him.
