Primal Fear and Tad Morose if everyone would get there heads of their ass and worship this and stop thinking Power/Heavy Metal is Startovarious.

Stratovarius = Power Metal

you are stoopad.

In your distorted world yes. I don't want to go all Holy Terror on you guys here, but that is part of what is wrong anymore is you think symphonic, neo classical shit about Jesus and Eagles is Power Metal.

I really don't want to argue cos I know a lot of you on here are newbies, but there is a reason there is the word "Power" in front of the word Metal. Bands like Paragon, Brainstorm, Grave Digger, Tad Morose, Morgana Le Fey, Primal Fear, Angel Dust, Nocturnal Rites, Twisted Tower Dire, Wolf, that is freaking Power Metal or Heavy Metal. Sorry we are going to disagree on that.

Really know need to call me stupid. If you want to throw rose petals and prance around your room to Finnish stuff is cool with me but that isn't really Power Metal.

Pay attention, man. "Stoopad" would indicate that he was joking around. Secondly Stratovarius is symphonic power metal. Most of the bands you named there are true metal bands, some with slight power metal tendencies.

Is this the same Ken that peed his panties over being called a racist telling me to get internet Sacracasm? lol

The bands I named are A: True Heavy Metal and B: What POWER Metal should be. I don't care what you guys read on the internet, what geek sites label bands, etc. Flowery stuff from Finland is not True Power Metal, I don't care, just don't argue with me about it. Is it Heavy Metal, yes. Is it True HM, yeah for the most part because it cues up from Helloween. Is is Power Metal......hell no, you know why? Because there is no "power" in it.

So tell me Kenny G, what makes a Power metal Power Metal if they have no Power? What is the difference between Heavy Metal and Power Metal?

You are seriously going to sit here and tell me that Grave Digger and Paragon don't play Power Metal?

One of the best new Heavy Metal albums I have heard in a long time is Axxis - Paradise in Flames, this rocks hard with great Male and some female vocals with balls.

Strange that you should say this. I like Axxis but the new album is weird. It's so cheesy and catchy that i sometimes get embarrassed to actually listen to it. Bernard Weiss sings like a girlie, the music is overdone with cheesy keyboards and the lyrics suck. I like when the music is catchy but Paradise In Flames is too much. I got tired of it on the 3rd listen, it became really boring. Axxis have gone more power metal than before. It seems they've thrown away the last bits of melodic rock that was left in them. I'd take Time Machine any time over the new one.
I still like it and would give it a 75/100, but I won't listen to it as often as their other records.

I get in the mood for Heavy Metal like that sometimes and don't saturate myself with it so is always fresh to me. It is funny on another site I gave my thought on that album and gave it a 7.5/10 which is wha you had. To me 75 is a damn good score, it loses points for being generic and samey and some gay mis-steps here and there but anything that gets about a 5.5 from me I think is decent. I only gave the Pyramaze a 6/10 cause it bored me.

I never heard this band anymore and I am not even sure I know what "melodic rock" is. You guys have to many genere labes here like Power Play mag or something. melodic rock to me would be I guess freaking Journey or REO or Swano's Breathing Shadow album. I am not into Harem Scarem, PC69 or any of that crap.

I like songs about woman. Do you other guys like songs about woman? Some songs about woman are awesome, you should try them out, leeeeee, at the risk off feeling a bit gay. But it shouldn't, because they are songs about woman, not man. So there you go. :D

I have to agree with NESS and Eyesore here, leeeeeee

You are in the far, far, far, far minority if you think Stratovarius and bands of the like are not power metal.

Only here man. I can take being different and not following the herd. But to me Power Metal has to have Power in it and descened from bands like Helstar, Jag Panzer, Omen, Armored Saint and others...

Not from Helloweens gay god period, sorry you and the rest can't deal with that. I know this place is newbie land which is cool but different opinions other then a "herd" mentality are cool. And I liked early Edguy too.

You have to listen to heavy metal for more than 15 years at least to be considered tROO; and you also have to stop listening to "pussy metal".

Yes, quite clearly disagreeing over definition makes one a newb. Moron.

Since when is discussing Metal and having a different opinion a "flame war"? Man, why does everyone have to have the same opinion, that would be boring. I think you guys are lisiting to too much flower Power Metal and stuff and makes you all to huggy huggy. I like to argue about Metal, I don't see what is wrong with that actually?

Can someone answer this question for me, please?

1. Why is everyone so gay on here?

2. Why is everyone so freaky when people argue or discuss Metal or make sarcastic jokes?

3. Serious, are you guys really that sensitive to everything, cos if so Man, just forget it. I don't want to hurt anyones feelings or anything.

4. Is this like the Hippie, commune free love for all of the Metal world?

And why can't anyone tell me why they wouldn't think that Grave Digger or Paragon isn't Power Metal and Stratovarious is? Serious?

You guys love to throw around Moron and stuff, which is cool, I am used to discussing metal in much more intense areas so I don't care, but honest if you really this bothers you that much and you want to keep it all happy, happy I won't comment except to say Yay or Nay.

1. This is FagMetal.com! Don't pretend that's not why you came here! You knew all along, and are just playing about now. You big tease, you.

2. Because we're all gay. All of us. We can't take it when people disagree with us, and we get all angry. You wouldn't like to see an army of gays, bearing down on you with rage in their hearts and pitchforks in their hands. A Terrible Sight Indeed.

3. There's another part of us you want to hurt, yes? Don't be coy, man, get it out! We'd much rather you were one of us than you stand on the sidelines, calling names. You're just jealous.

4. The gay one. Straight people can go away, unless they're curious... In which case, as I said, join in the fun.

Say neither, say 'gay!'

And seriously? If all you have to offer is insults, then kindly go back to these butch oh-so-manly sites of yours where man can wrestle man without feeling guilt - or other things.

mate your perfectly welcome to disagree, and agruing if fine but your just insulting people, you know that when you call everyone on a board newbs your going to get a responce, same with calling people gay for liking a type of music. Just be civil!

I can see your point about the newer european influenced stuff not being as powerfull as helstar and bands of that type, but its just a name.
