 Post subject: Cover Vs. Cover: Round 2 (Preliminaries)

After the corrupt decision in round 1 let's try to do it right this time! :wink: Here we have Motley Crue's "Shout At The Devil" being covered by rap metal legends Stuck Mojo and geeky mathcore turds December.

The Stuck Mojo cover features guest vocals by Devin Townsend. This was recorded in 1996 when Devin produced their Pigwalk album. The only version of this song that exists is this version, a rough mix taken from a cassette. The December cover comes from a split CD with the hardcore band Unite called The Nato Project. Both are very different from each other. Please don't simply vote for December because the word "rap" is associated with Stuck Mojo. Get down!

There's really no contest.....Stuck Mojo easily. Really bad quality of the song, but still kicked December's ass.

I think Stuck Mojo feat. Mr. Townsend did a better cover, doing Iron Maiden's classic: Wrathchild. Now their cover is almost better than the original...almost

Both more than suck, but I really hate Motley Crue, and the December one songs less like them, and more like they've covered it instead of just copying it.

I meant the songs, not the bands. Agreed with you there, I think, although I'd have to hear a bit more SM to make my mind up fully, I haven't heard loads...

They're excellent. They mixed it all up long before it was cool to do so. I do wish they didn't lose the masters of the songs they did with Devin, his vocals sound wicked.
