And it's far more open-minded than this shithole ;)
Well it's not an entire shithole here, I've always enjoyed it, but sometimes you just want a change for the better. I'll keep visiting this place though...

Born in the most square-headed region (Swabia) of Germany
Played secretly my brothers Black Sabbath LP again and again. Got a good thrashing because it was totally scratched then.
My sisters' friend brought along Yes' Relayer. This was the start of my career als elitist musical snob. Started listening to Jazz and Contemporay Classical.
Entered a record store and was strucked by the most incredible music I have ever heard (turned out to be Gong est mort). Stood there round 10 minutes paralyzed with my mouth open and then took that thingy at home. Became a big fan and bought everything I could find.
Listened to Hawkwind's Live 1979. Became a big fan and bought everything I could find.
Increased alcohol consumption to an insane amount. Puked evey day.
Fell into coma at a John McLaughlin concert. Got diagnosed cerebral hemorrhage. Survived anyway.
Felt life to be fucking boring and attempted sucide.
Moved out and started living in apartment-sharing communities.
Heard Master of the Puppets and became interested in metal.
Read The challange of fate by Thorwald Detlefsen and changed my life. Quit drinking and taking drugs and enrolled for Earth Science and Physics at university.
Heard Cause of Death and became a Death Metal fan.
Sold my whole LP collection pushed for money. Hell, today this would be invaluable.
Started listening to traditional Classical music frequently.
Got married. Big mistake!
Lost my job as scientific assistant because I disproved papers of my doctoral advisor and refused to fake data. That's how science works.
Took a job as assistant quality engineer. Marched through to Vice president level within 4 years. Apparently there was no time for music.
Bought a house. Big mistake!
Heard Dream Theater's Once in a Livetime and regained interest in Metal.
Reached the peak. Made business trips round the world, had the best food and accomodation.
Got depressed. Struggled with suicidal thoughts. Neglected work. Built a large Metal CD collection. Maybe Metal saved my live.
Read The multidimensional cosmos trilogy by Armin Risi and rediscovered what's important in life. Recovered completely. Joined MR. Got downgraded to non-executive level at work.
Quit MR
Rejoined after seeing that Hawkwind review. Wrote the story of my life there.
