Nah, they're awesome. One of the few metal bands that manages to be unique without sounding weird, avant-guarde or doing anything all that groundbreaking. They just do the whole symphonic prog thing really, really well.

Misha on the other hand has persistently introduced great underground music here, that's why he has a cult following in this forum, me being the leader because our tastes have a match record of %99, even though I constantly accuse him of being a sellout.

This is a little off topic but I couldn't believe how many people loved Venetian Snares. I like some of the stuff Misha recommends but I thought this was terrible. But heck, I'm a close-minded fool. :(

Well, obviously I was joking, but since you're being an asshole let me point out that it doesn't take a genius to figure out that some of you here play favorites. Some people review rock and people bitch and whine. Some review nu-metal and people bitch and whine. Someone doesn't review black metal and people bitch and whine. Misha reviews drum and tuba and some of you eat it up like it's the greatest thing in the world! It ridiculous and it's EXTREMELY obvious. I encourage Misha to share his music, but it's fucking pathetic that a popularity contest is played out on a messageboard. I could give to shits and a fuck if you don't pay attention to my recommendations, this is not what this is about. Do you really think I care if you like me or not? You don't know me one bit.

I'm not often aligned with Eyesore, but I do think people would like Misha's suggestions less if say...Eyesore had made them. It's like they're buying into the whole music for posturing thing that I half-jokingly have accused most of this board of doing already.

That said, Subterranean Masquerade is a total overrated wankfest on the level of modern Opeth.

You're the one that's turning this into a popularity contest not me. Yes I don't know you personally but I didn't attack your personality anyway, I'm just talking about your reviewing and your shit did nothing for me so far.

Maybe I'm biased but I can't speak for anyone, Misha sends me the samples, explains in detail why I would like them, even uploads the albums for me, so obviously when the review is done I talk about it a lot. But your stuff is nu-metal and shit, which I have no interest in, so it is obvious why I am biased isn't it?

Ok, I don't want to part in the discussion wether Kathy is swinging on my balls, but are you suggesting that I am making this a popularity contest? I hope not, because you're the only one that is constantly mentioning it. Admitted, I do "promote" my recommendations by samples, provocations and explanations, but is that really a bad thing? I write to be read, so I do care what people think about my recommendations, unlike you (at least based upon what you said in this thread). I won't be sad because someone doesn't like it, but it's satisfying to see if I helped someone find new music he likes. That's the main job of a reviewer, no? Anyways, it's not my fault that few people here like nu-metal, had our suggestions be opposite, I highly doubt that people would still check my recommendations. My recommendations are mostly composition based, usually underground artists making music that does not follow ordinary pop structures. Your suggestions are based on music that is catchier, mostly with conventional songstructures and band-based. There is no such thing as one of these being better, we just don't generally share tastes. So it's logical that people here listening to Burzum, Agalloch and Pelican go with mine, as they are all atmospheric and/or moody. I really don't think it's personal.

I'm glad you like Misha, I like Misha, I'm glad he suggests a wide range of styles for people to listen to because THAT is what it's about. It's not about ignoring the suggestions of others because you don't like them.

No, this has nothing to do with you. Like I said, share all the music you want, that's a very good thing. The fact remains that the important thing here is the sharing of music, not the person who shares it. Unfortunately, that's not the case with some people. Kaath has admitted to it in this thread. What does discovering new bands have to do with me?

Fine, some people don't like me here. I don't care. It's just stupid that someone would ignore music, or slander a band and their music without listening to it, just because someone they didn't like suggested/reviewed it. Pfffft!
