Stargazer was the most disappointing, expected more from those guys. Quite boring overall

In Flames, Trivium, DevilDriver and Zao.

Zao opened and was umm ok for hardcore, mostly dumbass two-steppers, but the music was heavy; Zao was apparently the favorite band of the dude I went with.

Devildriver wasn't too bad, some nice blackened death sounding stuff and good for a live show. Crazy ass circle pit, and some moshing (ouch :-/). Dez on vox called all of the two-steppers "emo pussy wanabees" and said to wipe their ass up in a circle pit.

Trivium wasn't bad, but Heafy kinda sucked at vocals. Awesome tribute to DBD, other than that nothing too spectacular other than the extended solo of A Gunshot to the Head of Trepidation (got punched in the face in a pit though).

Ya and In Flames the headliner kicked ass. Now I don't care if people call them sellouts or whatever, their new songs sounded pretty heavy live. Opened with 'System' then 'Trigger,' hit up 'Leeches,' 'Colony,' then was a blur after that. Also they seemed to run through only about 4 tracks from Come Clarity, and 4 from R2R, and a bunch from Colony, Clayman, Whoracle, Lunar Strain, and even Moonshield from Jester Race. Favorite act of the night by far. Guitars and drums were right on par, but Anders' clear vocals on a few songs were ... ehh. But I'm really glad they played minimal songs from STYE, and more from their back catalogue. Overall it ruled.

Wow! They played songs from Lunar Strain and Jester Race? Thats a shocker. I heard its rare if they go past Clayman.

Yup Episode 666 and Food For The Gods, when Anders said time for a slow song, I was hoping Gyroscope but Moonshield popped out.

I don't know if you're that into stuff like them, but really, I would go see them just to see Herman Li and Sam Totman shred. Call it musical masturbation or whatnot, but damn, they're fucking amazing guitar players. Plus if you're a fan (as I am), you'll enjoy the rest of the show too.

So I saw Neuraxis, Arsis, and Nerophagist last night and ohhhhhh man was it awesome.

Neuraxis was dead on. Their singer has a shit ton of energy and was very involved with the crowd (even though there was probably only 30 people there). They were brutal as hell and were very entertaining.

Arsis was friggin brilliant. There singer/guitarist is amazing, sweep picking and finger taping while singing. The only problem with these guys was that I was right next to the stage and couldn't hear anything half the time. The venue we were at is notorious for their horrible sound. This is one of my favorite bands at the moment and they reassured me last night that they will continue to be great.

Necrophagist was out of this world. They are so damn good at their instruments. I haven't seen playing like that in a long time. They sounded so damn crisp (despite the stupid venue sound problems) and made for one hell of a show. I have become a Necrophagist fan for life after seeing them last night.

I was just in a Kreator concert in my room, thrashing around to Pleasure to Kill. Yes, it does count as a concert-it was that good.

Necrophagist w/ Alarum, Neuraxis, Arsis, Cattle Decapitation

Alarum was great. Their bass player/singer was amazing. His fingers were flying all over his bass. They ended their set with a cover of Death's Flattening of Emotions. Good stuff.

Neuraxis was very energetic, especially their singer. Often times he looked like he was having a seizure. He interacted well with the crowd and was pretty funny. He was also drunk off as his. One time he fell down and I wasn't sure if he was going to get up.

Arsis kicked ass. James was amazing to watch. His guitar playing was just phenomenal. Only problem was the short set. They didn't play Maddening Disdain which was a real disappoinment to me and the rest of the crowd. Arsis left the stage to pleas of more songs.

I had never really heard any Cattle Decapitation before last night but Travis Ryan is amazing. He his screams and growls were just inhuman. At the begining of their set Travis tried a stage dive. Not expecting this I moved to the side. Thankfully the people behind me got him. I don't know how Cattle Decap are on CD but live they make for quite an entertaining show.

Finally, it was time for Necrophagist. Muhammed and crew came on stage and recieved quite a reception. They opened up with Stabwound and tore through their set from their. Vocally Muhammed sounded just like he does on CD and of course he was amazing guitar wise. They also left the stage with pleas for one more song.

The venue it was at was pretty damn cool. I was right up leaning on the stage smack dab in front of the microphone. I could have reached out and picked guitar strings. It was a great show.

The Live is even better my friend, I had a blast. And you know what Mille (The Vocalist) did, he actually told the guy to leave the place because he was being a fuckin' poser and waving his fuckin t-shirt around. We fuckin' loved it.

I'm going to "Led Zeppelin with the Pink Floyd exprience" concert, called The Led Zepplica Exprience.

King Diamond last week. Excellent show, very theatrical. The King sang in a cemetary (he brought fences on stage, like cemetery fences), next to a coffin with the Abigail name on it. Then he took out Abigail (plastic doll of course) and stabbed it while the intro Funeral was playing. Then came Arrival, Mansion In Darkness, other songs from Abigail I and II, all in the cemetery. He even had a pretty girl pretending to be Miriam pregnant.

For the Puppet Master songs he had the girl acting like a puppet, then she was grandma in a wheelchair (hilarious desguise as well) for Them and so on. Musically, he sang just like on the albums, he was perfect. The organiser said that when he came out of stage he had chest pains, because he really gave his all out there. La Roque ruled as well, I was happy to see one of my favourite guitar players.

Thunderbolt opened, and sounded good (get their debut, Demons and Diamonds for some vintage heavy metal, very maidenesque, with some hints of early Queensryche now and then), then came Griffin, which I didn't like. All in all, a great show.
