good game, good game.

the referee was too lenient imo, for both sides.

barcelona had 5 or 6 really good occasions, keeper Moretto ended up saving the match for Benfica.

next is the game at Camp Nou.. barcelona at full strength playing at their home field. :?

a good game... a bad referee... some voodoo.. and nobody understanding how this match ended 0-0...

Well, football magic another time... Let's see what happens here in Barcelona.

Ah, and Arsenal 2 - 0 Juventus ... Good news :)

the results then:
SL Benfica 0 x 0 FC Barcelona

Arsenal 2 x 0 Juventus
(40' Fabregas 69' Henry)

Tomorrow:
Inter Milan x Villarreal
Olympique Lyon x AC Milan

----------

i didn't expect Arsenal to be able to beat Juventus, what with their rock-hard defense and everything. plus Arsenal haven't exactly been at the top of their game this season...
but hey, the less italian sides are in the next round the better.

I watched the whole Arsenal match and they didn't just beat Juventus, they totally, uttelry pwned them. It should have been more than 2-0! Juve down to 9 men at the end as well... They were just really really awful.

the keeper from Benfica has made like 5 mistakes that could be 5 easy goals for Barca, conclusion: Benfica had its portion of luck

good game of both teams though

tonight: Inter- Villareal

he made some mistakes that could've cost us the game, but he also made some excellent saves.

we were quite lucky though, i admit it.

As the final result is zero, the saves are more important than the mistakes.

And it was not luck... It was more than luck, it was voodoo.

Go Villarreal... Tonight will be Riquelme's night.

har har! more champion's leagueChampion's League action today!

Yesterday's results:
Villarreal 1 x Inter Milan 0
58' Arruabarrena
@ El Madrigal
First leg: 2-1, Villarreal pass on away goals.
Image

AC Milan 3 x 1 Olympique Lyon
25', 88' Inzaghi 90'+ 3' Shevchenko; 31' Diarra
@ San Siro, Milan
First leg: 0-0 (Milan pass)
Image

TODAY'S MATCHES:
Juventus x Arsenal
@ Stadio Delle Alpi, Turin
First leg: 2-0

F.C. Barcelona x S.L. Benfica
@ Camp Nou, Barcelona
First leg: 0-0

SEMI-FINALS:
AC Milan x [Benfica/Barcelona]
Villarreal x [Arsenal/Juventus]

-------------------

bah! imo AC Milan didn't deserve to go through. Lyon were kicking ass until near the end of the match, when somehow Milan put 3 through the goal.

I don't like Villarreal much, but personally the less italian teams competing the better :P

As for today, i hope Arsenal can hold on to their advantage (again the whole Italian thing) and, of course, i hope Benfica can make it through Camp Nou. it'll be extremely difficult, Barcelona are favourites, but like i said, i believe until the end.

FORÇA BENFICA!

Well... villarreal deserves it... a soccer team of a town of 48.000 inhabitants in the Champions League Semis... that's great. And Riquelme is a very good player, one of the best in the world.
Milan's has italian luck... and well, that's the way italian teams won... ugly football, great resolution.

For tonight, well, I hope Barça ends the voodoo of 3 last games and made the goals its play deserves.
And I hope Henry and Cesc beat again the juve... the less italian teams, the best for football.

So... Força Barça.

I have a really unpleasant feeling that Arsenal will chuck it away tonight through overconfidence. I hope to be proved wrong.

But it might be an ugly game... I'm expecting a bad atmosphere at the stadium.

Benfica's European adventure comes to an end.... it was good while it lasted. we made a good impression and knocked out 2 giants with 10 times our budget (Manchester United and Liverpool).

a team that wants to make it to the semi-finals (and who knows, even further) can't waste goal opportunities like we did and can't make so many mistakes in defence. it was only fair that Barcelona went through.

best of luck to them and i hope they win it... without question the best team in Europe.

Celtic won the SPL tonight :( but in beating Hearts they kept them only three points above Rangers :) meaning we've got a real chance of salvaging what's been a disastrous season.

Well... Today we win, but Barça didn't played very well...

And Milan is a hard team... we'll see what happens.

A.C. Milan 0 - 1 F.C. Barcelona.
Giuly, 57'

Paris is nearer...

And tomorrow, Arsenal-Villarreal.

Well, I'd love a spanish final... but I doubt it will be... Arsenal is better team.

Barcelona have a great shot at the final now, of course they can still fuck it up but it's unlikely.

you mentioned the size of Villarreal's town... while it's not that big they have some cash. players like Riquelme and Forlan don't come for free...

-----
i think that Barcelona will face and defeat Arsenal in Paris.
