Definitely Bach. He's a powerful vocalist. I also think ex vocalist of Steel Prophet, think his name was Rick Mythasin or something or the vocalist of Machine Men would be an able replacement. Or how about ex-Sabbath vocalist, Tony Martin?

Tony Martin ? no freakin' way !!! he doesn't have the power, he doesn't have the range... he's not up to the task...

I went for Dee Snider since he's an excellent singer but also a great frontman and Maiden needs a frontman (Bailey's Planet of the Apes routine was kinda boring after a while)...

also Rob Halford or Geoff Tate could have done it 8)

and King Diamond would have been fun

What do you mean Planet of the Apes routine? I must be missing something here.

I meant that he looked like a gorilla from Planet of the Apes on stage... banging his fists in the hair, shaking his head and walking clumsily like Ozzy does... can you see it now ?

Oh, okay. I've only heard bootlegs from that era. And after hearing his butchering of the classics, I had no desire to actually see it. Nothing against him, but he didn't fit Dickinson's or DiAnno's songs at all.

well, actually I think he wasn't that bad on DiAnno's songs... but to listen to him while he was singing The Evil That Man Do was a torture... :(

Yeah, it wasn't Blaze's fault Steve Harris hired him. They made good songs with him, but I can't even imagine him singing the 80s stuff (although I could see his voice working on some of the No Prayer/FotD stuff for some reason).

plus this man stank every riff Page came up with on his album with him... Coverdale should have retired after Whitesnake's 1987 platinium album imo.

To be honest i have never heard the Coverdale Page album, or other Coverdale album past Slip of the Tongue(which i like better than 1987).

now I totally disagree.. Slip of the Tongue is shite ! first they ruined the good ole Fool For Your Loving (one of my fav' WS song) and, then, if Steve Vai's guitar style was perfect with Diamond Dave it didn't have the bluesy dimension that's required to play in WS... and anyway no one can beat the Moody/Mardsen duet 8)

Slip of the Tongue is not shite imo! In spite of Vai's unfitting style the songwriting was good, better than with 1987( there are only 7 new songs on that one including Is this Love which is.."not that great" imo); besides, do you think Sykes fits WS better than Vai?
Indeed, the Moody/ Marsden line-up is sho'nuff their fuckin best...Ready An' Willing and Saints& Sinners both kick ass!

Sykes or Vandenberg did, indeed, a better job than Vai... and, trust me, as I've seen Whitesnake on the Slip of the Tongue Tour.. Vai was totally misplaced in WS

I trust you about that(anyway i'm not at all a fan of Steve Vai); i just think the quality of some songs on Slip of the Tongue(Wings of the Storm, Judgement Day, Sailing Ships, The Deeper the Love, title track) makes this one a winner over 1987, which is overrated imo.
