OK here are two things more enjoyabe than Viva Emptiness right off the top of my head. (Yes, I owned and listened to the album many times.)

First off is Viva Las Vegas.

Shit just look at this thing. It has Elvis, and Elvis owns. What does Elvis own? Everything. PLUS those dice are freaking huge. Not to mention that chick is kinda O.K. looking in an "eyesore's mom" sort of way.

Viva Emptiness- 0
Other things that start with Viva- 1

Next up is Vive La French Toast. OK it's "vive" instead of Viva, but that's close enough in my book.

This is taken from an IHOP menu. As you can see from the red circle, French Toast is the shit. It flat out beats every other breakfast out there. Not all crunchy like waffles, yet more interesting than flapjacks.

Viva Emptiness- 0
Other things that start with Viva- 2

So there you have it, an objectional and unbiased review of Viva Emptiness. Oh yea and Saxophones (or however you spell it) suck shit.

:D Very good show indeed sir!

"I trusted you, you lied.
It's all been a fucking lie!
Don't give a shit"

Uggh, Jonas what the hell happned to you? That's some of the most formulaic crap I've ever seen put to paper.

Saxophones>Elvis

In fact, I'd venture so far as to say that anyone who doesn't think that Elvis sucks, is themselves the sucker.

He came back to your house
I didn't take it as a promise
Always thought it was a lie
He went too far the fucker
It's not like I owe him money
This is different

Yea my principle bitch with this albums is the lyrics, some of these verses are just plain bad. I'm not asking for epic poetry or anything, but I have no idea what the fuck is going on in places. I do plan on checking out other Katatonia albums though, but this was a big miss for me. I got like $3 for it I think.

I strongly urge you to do so. The rest of their discography is brilliant. I don't know what happened on Viva, but don't let that sour you on the rest. I especially like the early Doom/Death Metal stuff. But all of it has it's own little charm.

Start with "Dance of December Souls" and "Discouraged Ones", my two personal favorites.

Well I remember hearing that The Last Fair Deal Gone Down (or whatever) was supposed to be pretty catchy, like Beatles catchy and that really intrigued me. But all I can find where I live is that damned Viva Emptiness album. (and how many more covers must we suffer through with depressing little children on them hrmm?) So yea I do want to check out some more of their stuff, I have been really over dosing on Tech Death lately so I need a break.

I thought Last Fair Deal Gone Down was pretty good, but like Enternal Idol I'd recommend Dance of December Souls first. Discouraged Ones and Brave Murder Day are also good picks.

It is a story from a newspaper the dude read. About some guy breaking in to a house over some stuff. They are good lyrics and direct and to the point. That is my fave passage off the album.

Are you out of your fucking mind son? How the fuck are you supposed to know it's from an article he read? how is that direct and to the point? Huh? HUH?? Oh it's something he read, it all makes sense now, what a great song.

And as for the rest of you fucking fucks, just consider yourselves lucky Elvis doesn't have you all murdered. Elvis is the greatest man to ever live. Period.

Elvis is dead anyway, so I wouldn't worry about it...
