Guitarist/vocalist Matthew "Matt" Tuck of the Welsh metalcore act BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE — who are currently on the road in North America as the opening act on a three-band package also featuring LACUNA COIL and headliners ROB ZOMBIE — has posted the following message on his group's official message board (where he posts under the name "Mattie") (comment in question was posted on the BFMV message board today, April 6, 2006 at 4:34 p.m. U.K. time):

"Yo, check it. We get just 30 minutes on this ZOMBIE tour, that's it!!! So there's not a lot of time to fuck around. Apologies for not playing all these [songs], but shit, man, you can't please all the people all the time. Next time, bro. As for the merchandise, ZOMBIE makes us price match him so, yup, it's fuckin $40 for a t-shirt, which is insane, I know. Greedy money-grabbing fucks. We're only allowed two pieces of merch, too, which sucks ass. Unfortunately, being first on on a tour like this sucks, but it's gotta be done. As I write this, I'm sitting on the fuckin' floor of the venue 'coz we don't have a dressing room again, 'coz fuckin Zombie takes them all for him, his band and crew. Basically, we are shit to him, but fuck it — if this is what it takes to get a name over here, then it's gotta be done. I'm not one to fuck around with words, so yes, we are not being treated well on this tour. Oh yeah, we don't get a soundcheck either. Fuckin' pissed at this tour, man."

Writing once again to the official BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE message board, Tuck said in his latest posting, "A sincere apology from Matt and BULLET to ROB ZOMBIE band and crew. . . I was really out of it this morning and let shit on the road fuck with my hungover head. I'm truly sorry if any of my comments about this tour were out of line and totally exaggerated. This is our first real tour in the States and with lots of personal shit happening to me from home I just lost it. We really have been totally fuckin' thrilled to have the chance to play on this tour and are grateful for every new fan we make. It means everything to us to be able to play our shit for new fans. I'm really sorry to have offended anyone and look forward to putting this behind and getting back to the metal." That's one thing I didn't think I needed but am now glad I have: Another reason to dislike Bullet for my Valentine.

Apparently the apology wasn't enough and they've been kicked off the tour. Oh how the *cough* mighty have fallen.

umm... as a matter of fact... (guilty pleasure) I quite like Bullet For My Valentine... there are some cool riffs and some nice soloing. I like them about as much as rob zombie...

I'm amazed at how most of you just jump on the HATE-BFMV-bandwagon without thinking twice about it. Not that they're my favourite band or anything, but they do have some decent songs and some decent riffs and should be treated as humans. Even if they play metalcore (which seems to be hated by all). I mean, ok, so from a strategic perspective, it wasn't all that smart to rant like Mr. Tuck, but I guess any of you sad fucks would've thought the same in his situation. Regardless of what brand of music you play you deserve respect. The difference between him and you is that he had the guts to be honest about it. Too bad he apologized later, thus coming off as scared to be dropped of tour (what subsequently seems to have happened).
