Ambient/Noise

Reviews: "Enveloping and eery. The beats rarely make an appearance as this is almost pure harsh-ambient, but when they do it's the impending dread and the finality of death. It is a nightmarish disc."; "Such awesome, dark atmospheres that sound like you're in the middle of the hells eye." Source: http://d13.lowres.com/rel/007/index.html

check this out.

don't worry, admins, it's a Gentle Giant live track, not a whole studio album or anything. I heard it for the first time today.. better than the album version!

just about to start Metropolis by Art Zoyd. two and a half hours, thirty five tracks. no idea what to expect. It's a 2003 release by a band that started in 1976 so if this is as good as I hope then I may have a new favourite band..

John Cage / Maelström Percussion Ensemble and guests But what about the noise of crumpling paper which he used to do in order to paint the series of "papiers froissés" or tearing up paper to make "papiers déchirés?" ARP was stimulated by water (sea, lake and flowing waters like rivers), forests for Percussion Ensemble. Realization by Jan Willams

So here's the challege: find something with a longer track name!

np: Thinking Plague - In Extremis

holy crap! think Art Bears styled melody lines + Univers Zero styled apocalyptic chamber music + King Crimson styled time-signature tomfoolery + twelve-toned approach + Mr. Bungle on their best behaviour? and the lyrics are WAY better than the tripe the 5uu's insist on ruining their songs with.. (and let's not even mention Sleepytime Gorilla Museuuurgh.)

*jawdroppage*

ps, if you didn't get all the references then stop sucking at prog.
