Heh, I only have the new one. I listened to it at FYE and it was sweet so I got it, had no idea who they were then. Haven't gotten anything else because I'm not a real big doom guy, that one release just caught my...fancy...damn that's gay.

Both great albums. Candlemass are the best that doom metal has to offer. Radical, if you like the new one, you really should check out the whole catalogue.

Solitude Aeturnus rival Candlemass's greatness. I give the slight nod to Candlemass because they did it first and because after almost 20 years Solitude Aeturnus are just releasing their 6th full length album.

Still, both bands are fucking monstrous!! Vocally, Solitude Aeturnus are way superior! Shit, Robert Lowe's vocals are better than 95% of the vocalists out there in ANY metal band!! Right up there with the greats, highly underrated!!

I listen to Solitude Aeturnus too, no they are not better than Candlemass, but close.

Candlemass are up there with my favourite bands of all time, I literally drooled when they reformed.

The only Candlemass album I have is Tales of Creation and I think it's pretty good. The title track is by far the best song on the album.

Sorry to ressurect old shit, but are there any 'mass albums that should be avoided. I mean, I've heard bad things about From The 13th Sun, but listening to "Cyclo-f" from it now, it sounds alright.

Dactylis Glomerata and From the 13th Sun are kinda different.. it's the work that LEIF EDLING~! was going to put out under a different band name since there's no Messiah. it's still pretty ok, though. just not exactly Nightfall.

Lets not forget the almighty Manilla Road. I believe them to be superior to ALL doom bands. I mean, fuck, Lost in Necropolis, no doom band will ever be able to match that song.
